Sorry for your loss.

Condolences to movie maker Tyler Perry on the recent loss of his mom. He has often stated that she was the basis of his Madea character that I love to use here on Trooper York. Mr. Perry makes movies that make more money and please more people than any other three directors put together in Hollywood. Of course he is ignored or scorned by the Hollywood big shots because normal Americans both black and white enjoy his work. He works clean and works fast and will be remembered for both his talent and his humanity long after the amoral nihilists are forgotten.

Losing your mom is just about as bad as it gets. May she rest in peace.

A Giant has passed today.

A Giant of pop culture has passed away today. Captain Lou Albano the great wrestler, wrestling manager, announcer, actor and video star has passed away at the age of 76. He truly was a giant of my ute.

I remember when he won the United States Tag Team championship with his partner Tony Altimore in their ahead of their time team "The Sicilians." And all those years he managed against the likes of the living legend Bruno Sammartino along with other great managers like the grand Wizard of Wrestling. You would tune your UHF antenna so you could pick up the Spanish Station Channel 47 so you could get Lucha Libre professionale on a Saturday night. Man was that fun.

Later he became a video star with munchkin Cindy Lauper and starred in several of her videos and was instrumental in the explosion of wrestling into the multi-million dollar industry it is today.

He was a pioneer and a legend.

Rest in peace sweet prince.

Rest in peace Bea, you were one cool broad!

Bea Arthur passed away today. She was eighty six. She was one cool broad. If you saw her recently on various Comedy Central Roasts you know she got it. She had very different politics than me but I know we could have hung out and laughed our asses off at the way of the world. She had been around long enough and had seen enough of what is what that she would appreciate my tribute to her. So Rest In Peace Bea. You are probably up in heaven busting Jesus's balls right now.

Bird is the word or is it Muerto?

Mark the Bird Fidrych passed away yesterday in what seems like an accident while he was fixing his dump truck. He was of course that great flash in the pan pitcher for the Tigers who had a couple of great years and then fizzled out.

You know when you are a fan there are always a few guys on the other team you like and a bunch that you hate. When the league was smaller it was a lot easier. For the Tigers I always liked Norm Cash and Willie Horton and Bird Fidrych. Never cared for Al Kaline though. Or Alan Trammel or Lou Whitaker. For the Orioles I hated Jim Palmer and Frank Robinson but thought that Boog Powell and Mark Belanger were pretty cool. For the Brewers I loved Stormin Ghorman Thomas and Paul Moliter but Robin Yount always left me cold. For the Mariners the only guy I could stand was ex Yankee Jay Buhner. I mean I always hated A-Rod that's why it sucks when he came to the Yankees.

And of course other than Manny none of the Red Sox are worth a shit. Now that Manny's gone I can root for him to do well. The rest of them of course suck.

Anyway may Mark rest in peace. I will never forget those games where he acted like a crazy person out on the mound. Much more entertaining than the way corporate baseball is these days.

Hey maybe he will meet Marilyn Chambers in the line and get a quick hummer. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace Marilyn

Marilyn Chambers passed away today at the age of 56. A old school star from the 1970's she made many great films. My favorite was "Insatiable" a classic which still gets you up...I mean holds up today. May God have mercy on her soul.
