More adventures in Obamacare!

So I bring a list of all of our medications to transfer from CVS to Rite Aid because our insurance will no longer pay CVS. They said it would be easy. Which of course it was not.

You see some of the prescriptions were called in and they are not transferable. So I have to get new prescriptions from the doctor. Who is not reachable on the weekend. Normally they would give me a few pills to tide us over but now they can't because I won't be filling it at CVS and Rite Aid needs a new one.

It is all fucked up.

Obamacare is so fucked up. My wife was in DC about two weeks ago, and the shit that went on in the meeting was enough to make you scream. Essentially, the IRS isn't going to enforce various parts of Obamacare. When questioned, though, they get pissed off and play semantic games. "No, we DID NOT say we aren't enforcing that. What we ARE doing is not penalizing people for that." Oh, okay. One of the lasting legacies of Obama will be the non-enforcement of laws. Of course, who isn't happy about tax law not being enforced, except for the unlucky ones who the IRS decides it WILL enforce the laws against.

Fucked up.

Something is going on with insurance, too. We were at the ER a couple of weeks ago, and guy came in and asked "How much of your deductible did you want to pay today?" I asked him what we owed. Couldn't tell me, but wanted us to pay up to the maximum of our deductible. WTF? How much do we owe? We'll pay that. Same thing happened with a guy my wife works with at his kid's pediatrician. After the appointment, they asked him "How much of your deductible did you want to pay today?" Sounds like all medical care is in the same system now. Same question, same mysterious we-can't-tell-you-how-much-you-owe-but-pay-us-anyway nonsense.

Fucked up.

The way to console ourselves about higher deductibles to bear in mind how this subsidizes the healthcare of each link of chain migration. They in turn may vote us out of existence, but at least we'll have the upper hand, morally.

The thing is the doctors and the health care practitioners are getting screwed too. They are not collecting from the HMO's and have to hook up with a hospital to get a paycheck. Something really fishy is going on here.
