Doug Roberts: You pretend you want me to improve your mind. You've never finished one book I've given you to read.
Ensign Pulver: I've finished "The Federalist Papers," Doug boy! And that Constitution thing.
Doug Roberts: I didn't give you that. He's been reading "God's Little Acre" for over a year now. He's underlined every erotic passage and added exclamation points. And after a certain pornographic climax, he's inserted the words "well written." He has never read the Consititution. Otherwise he would know that it is really a tax and not a mandate. Now leave me alone while I look for another excuse to make Chris Matthews love me.

I recently saw the movie "God's Little Acre". All I saw were stupid bits, no pornographic bits. Must have been a Hollywood production code deal or something. I am not going to read it, that's for sure. The mills have been driven out of Gastonia and the rest of NC, so, just like medicine, it is a dead industry in this formerly great nation.
And not to get all political or anything, but fuck the supreme court and the retarded liberals who sit on it.
Well, it has cooled off to 105 here today, so perhaps it is time to get back outside and do some more work.
Nah, who am I kidding - a nap is a better idea...
60, I thought you lived in the mountains.
That's a truly scary temp if you do!
I meant to sort that out when you mentioned it the other day Chip S., but I guess I forgot. I once looked at property way up in the mountains overlooking Tennessee, but purchased in the Piedmont, between the mountains and the fall line.
The thermometer hit 107 briefly today. That's hot. Combined with the fact that we haven't had any rain since May, it's rough out there. My trees are highly stressed. Some rain would be nice...
It was a hot one in Jesusland, also. I was striped down to shorts and moccasins while working on the dozer. Should have on side finished tomorrow morning. The other side should go a lot faster.
"one side finished"
AllenS, You're writing like a man who needs to hydrate, or has been hydrating w/ a barley/malt beverage!
I quit drinking (I only drank beer) about 2 months ago. I had what you could probably call an epiphany. I just decided that I wasn't going to drink anymore. I might have one some day, but that will be about it. I'll be 66 in November, and decided that I had better things to do with my free time.
That's interesting my friend. I quit drinking in 1999 after hardly drinking for the 2 prior years. I was a fairly heavy drinker most of my life. In 2008 I took up drinking again and am now considering going back to non drinking status. For me, a big part of it is being diabetic.
I rarely drank from the age of 20 until I was 60. Now I am making up for lost time.
Kidding, I still can't drink much or often, but that's probably a good thing.
Hi, my name is 60, and I want to welcome you all here to this meeting of Trooper Anonymous...
I'm really interested in what my blood work will look like when I go and get my yearly exam this winter. It wasn't that bad when I was drinking, but I'm hoping that it will be better.
I've been eating better, more fruits and vegetables, and working out a lot more. I weighed 191 the day before I quit and when I weighed myself before taking a shower, I was 177. Of course, I had been sweating a lot working outside today in this heat.
I'm doing my best to offset the blow you guys have delivered to the domestic spirits industry.
We all do what we can.
I'm afraid that Leinenkugels had to lay off a whole shift.
One of the springs on the adjustment bolt was broken so here it is on my welding table ready to be welded.
Spring
Heavy freakin' duty, dude!
I'm going to follow you Allen, quit when I'm 66. Thank God that's a long ways off.
And I skimmed through "God's Little Acre" and didn't find ANY porno parts.
Of course, standards have changed sine 1945.
I never have done no drinkin'. Dunno why.
