Just let me say this about McCain. He's 1 out of 100 senators. He's chairman of no committee and holds not leadership position.

Yet, we are constantly bombarded day after day with these clown's opinion on the everything and everybody.

Especially Foreign Policy. This despite the fact that he's a warmongering fool who disastrously wrong 75% of the time. Remember, "We are all Georgians now"? Or when he wanted to invade Venezuela?

I feel the same way about McCain as I do about John Lewis: They were stand-up men at a time when that was tough but necessary, and I'm deeply grateful for and awed by what they did.

But those blows to the head have clearly taken their toll, and they really ought to rest on their laurels.

Separated at Birth: Ann Althouse and...?

As for John McCain, someone needs to get him back to his assisted living home.

I was tempted to put in the scene at the Sutler's store in "Fort Apache" where they guzzled all of those barrels of whiskey.

But we can't have Althouse in every post. Just sayn'

On the plus side: his dopey daughter seems to have disappeared. Her 15 minutes of fame, came and went.

Maybe she can get together with Patti Davis at the Has-been club.

McCain has the appearance of being influential because he is one of the media's pet Republicans. He gets air time in exchange for sounding like a moderate liberal, then we are told that his views represent mainstream Republican positions.

I respect his life story. Sadly, he sounds more like Joe Biden every passing year.

I want to thank John McCain for his service and I hope he retires soon.

I remember Mickey Mantle in his last years as a Yankee. Limping around the bases. Drunk all the time. Hitting on Asian girls.

Wait a minute that's not right.

Well you get the idea.

My thought on John McCain--certainly a hero having gone what he went through--after that however he went over to the dark side--was involved in the Keating scandal, and exemplifies what happens to people who sell their souls for 30 pieces of silver to suck at the government trough. McCain expemplifies nearly all the popmpous windbags who populate the senate. Caligula was right in making his horse a senator.

My Dad was in Naval Aviation (Korea/Vietnam) and took an instant dislike to McCain when he was elected to Congress. His comment on McCain:

"They put the stupid pilots in single engine attack planes, that way they'd only kill themselves."

Mickey Mantle hit on Asian girls?

And that's bad?

Chip S. said...

I think by that stage in his career he was mostly bunting.

rcocean said...

"And that's bad?"

He was only hitting .250 Blake and never getting to 3rd Base.

It was sad.

Aw, that is sad. There are lots of accommodating Asian girls around, if the local massage parlors are to be believed.
