Where is Michael Ray Richardson when you need him?

So the wife scheduled another cruise for the week of Labor Day Weekend. She is obsessed with vacations. No sooner than we come home from one then she is planning the next one. I am not all
that enthusiastic about them because there is always so much bullshit involved.

Luckily this one has bullshit down to a minimum. We are leaving out of New York so there is no flying involved. It is only the two of us so we don't have to worry about anybody else's feelings or what they want to do. We have invited some friends of ours to come along but I doubt that they are going to come so there is no worries there.

Cruises are great fun. The best part about them is you are not scrambling for something to do. You can go to the pool or the bar or one of the excursions they have set up for you. But you are not worried about what to do. Especially about where you are going to eat. This cruise is a little different as they have "free style" dining which means you are not tied down to a certain time to eat. There are six specialty restaurants that sound pretty good. So we should be enjoying ourselves.

It is very amusing that MSN is spotlighting 12 things that could make your cruise a disaster. One of them is getting a sunburn! Really. That makes a lot of sense. You can get a sunburn in your backyard. Sometimes I don't understand people.

Cruises hold no attractions to us. But, we have many fam and friends who love them. To each their own.

Maybe you can get an invite in John Kerry's boat?

Friends can be fun, but a cruise for the two of you sounds restful.

Either way, having something to look forward to can be a good thing along with getting away, even though the two weeks prior and after tend to be hell to pay.

We went on an NCL cruise for our honeymoon, and MrM got sunburned. Not a good thing, but we managed.

Not a big cruise guy but I can see how it would be particularly nice to go from being responsible for everything all the time, to not really have to be responsible for anything.

I don't take cruises because somebody, or some "body" always comes home in a body bag.
