You never know who you will meet

There is a different dynamic now that we have split into two stores.

The back store is the lingerie department and is the domain of my wife and our full time store manager. Of course I always joke with the customers that I am not the bra fitter because they get a little weirded out if I bring to the back if the girls are busy with other customers. So I try and stay in the front and deal with the Lee Lee's customer.

Yesterday I had a very nice girl come in looking for some clothes. She told me she had just had a baby and her body changed and she needed a different fit. Still and all she was in my smallest size and I put together a couple of nice outfits. A pencil skirt and a couple of tops with a cardigan. A wrap dress. A maxi. She was very happy and loved the fit.

So she decided to come in today to buy bras. She had said she was going on a second honeymoon and needed some great lingerie. Of course Lisa got the real story.

You see she had a baby. But it had died. She had to carry it to term and have it delivered by C-section. My wife and I and the girl were all weeping. When you see someone be so brave after a tragedy like that most of the rest of the bullshit you see is just meaningless. I just had to think of all of the poor babies that were murdered at the hands of this Supreme Court. It is just unbelievable how much evil there is in the world. Here is a family that so wanted a child and was denied in the cruelest possible way. So many others treat it like a wart removal.

In any event she is now part of the Lee Lee's Valise family and is off to the Caribbean.

There really are no words.

There really are no words

There are none. But there was a place where she could go, find what she needed to attend to her life needs, have her story heard and be treated with compassion and respect.

As another story goes, when Jesus was in the Garden just prior to his death, feeling sorrowful and overwhelmed, with his friends asleep and unavailable, an "angel from heaven was sent to strengthen him".

It sounds like your customer experienced something in the line of strengthening yesterday. That's a gift given and received that money can't buy.

There is worship in the mundane. You and Lisa participated in it. That's way cool.

It was humbling to meet someone with so much grace. She got a bunch of great new stuff and we comes back from vacation is going to help us with our website design.

How wonderful is that story! She was brought to you for a reason; you an Lisa gave her the comfort she needed.

It makes all that other stuff that goes on seem so petty and trivial. Because it is.

You and Lisa both did works of Mercy: you clothed the naked; Lisa comforted the afflicted.
