Professor Althouse let the cat out of the bag as to why Titus is not on her blog anymore:
"Titus went off in a huff after I came to the conclusion that one of his pseudonyms was an impostor and deleted a bunch of posts that I genuinely believed to be fake. We had an email exchange, and he didn't appreciate that I was trying to protect a commenter I cared about. In the course of that exchange, he made it clear that he was actually pretty hostile to me, and that made me realize that the Titus I once loved never really existed. Currently, he believes I should apologize to him, but I think he should apologize to me. I cared about him and protected him, and he wrote to me in an ugly, hostile way. He never loved me, so I don't love him anymore."
So it appears that Titus will not be posting back at Althouse anymore unless he is using another identity.
But I just want to say that if you ever want to pinch off a loaf here, you are always welcome. I don't censor or delete anyone.
Not that I have that many commenters but I don't like that kind of stuff.

Ya see how love complicates matters?
No love lost twixt Der Althouse and yours truly.
Ergo no hurt.
Or am I jealous?
Ah, the human heart.
Troop, I'll never figure out what makes you want to indulge in that sort of drama. That forum is about as staged as a Jerry Springer show! Is there really that much suspense to it?
I always thought the appearance of reality TV signified that we were ready for a different medium: Hence the blogosphere.
It's good to know such interest in regulating debate doesn't extend to you. Perhaps you'll one day be as big as althouse.blogspot.com. Like other cycles of growth and renewal, some entities just become too big to know when they've lost the knack for what might have originally made them relevant. My take: Drama isn't it.
But you never know. Whatever Trooper York is peddling just might be!
Well it's all about expression. Free expression. Lot's of what Titus does is not my cup of tea. But a lot of what he had to say was interesting and heartfelt. I am sure lots of people just skip over my stuff, but it is what I want to say. I would like to provide a forum for anyone who wants to talk. Plus Titus is really funny. At least to me.
Thanks to youse guys for posting though. I need the feedback. Otherwise it's like I am talking to myself.
And Montana, your blog is consistently interesting if too political for me. Keep up the good work.
And ricpic, I need some poems here too dude.
Titus was pretty crude but almost always interesting and funny. It would be cool if he started commenting here, we could create a whole Althouse secondary market: We meet over there and then come over here to chat...
Titus was the world's worst Moby, which made him sort of endearing.
Whatever his flaws were (and are), he was not just politics, and is in the category of people you could meet without worrying they would shoot you in the face.
He might call you a bitch, but he wouldn't let it spoil dinner, if you know what I mean.
Althouse needs more of that.
I think I sort of got a kick out of reading his one-line tantrums also, and the conspicuous vulgarity that no one else would touch made it even funnier - even if only because it seemed to scare everyone else off. But doing that wouldn't have been my cup of tea either.
And your input is apt and well-taken. I really do want to make a conscious effort to make my abode less political as well.
But whatever. We've got to FREE LEVI!
Zach Sire asked for suggestions as to what he should put on his protest sign for when Palin came to his town. I suggested:
"Nothing comes between me and my Levi's"
lol. it might backfire though!
Bill Maher as the corrupt yet supportive role model, who stands ready to rescue Levi from marital misery so he can ensconce him within the circles of open SoCal debauchery, makes much more sense.
I love it.
I bet even you can identify with that, Trooper. Admit it. I can.
FREE LEVI!!!
Yeah. We should try not to hijack the original message, which is about political imprisonment. The internets are buzzing with products intended to raise awareness about the callous injustice done to this innocent young man.
I'm waiting for the bumper sticker, myself.
But let's keep the message simple. It works better that way.
The philosophical words of this young man, who was cruelly taken hostage to conservative exegencies, speak for themselves:
"I don't want kids."
"Ya f*** with me I'll kick your ass."
"I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot some s**t and just f***in' chillin' I guess."
"I'm a f***in' redneck who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes. But I live to play hockey."
F-ckin' FREE LEVI!!! NOW!!!
He's like Roger Clinton, after being forced to marry Madeline Albright.
FREE HIM!
The best ones so far are the one with Uncle Sam asking you to free Levi, the buttons and shirts with his picture on them, and... of course, the trucker hat!
Ok. Any more and I'll get spam-blocked.
You guys know what we need to do.
I have always assumed titus was just an alias dtl used when he wanted to hang out at althouse and was in a good mood.
Assumes facts not in evidence.
Primarily that DTL has ever been in a good mood.
yeah, I know, that's definitely the big hole in my theory. There were just a couple times titus got mad --but when he did, he was vicious--and the things he said were straight out of the dtl playbook. Otherwise, I never would have connected the two.
Oh well, we'll never know...
Yeah, Titus was pretty funny, most of the time.
He'll probably return under a different name after the election.
