It's Christmas time and the Homeless are with us.

The store is on the corner where all the people from the subway pass so occasionally a homeless guy will set up next to the outside wall. I would normally get him some coffee or a sandwich and send him on his way. It is often different people, I guess the pass the info that I am a soft touch around in homeless circles. But recently one guy set up with a whole rigmarole. A sign. A puppy. Everything to make him seem more pathetic. It was on Saturday and I couldn't have him in front of my store.

So I paid him $20 to go two blocks down to sit in front of one of my competitors.

With an extra twenty in it if he took a dump in front of their store.

You know, leaving a negative review on Yelp pales in comparison.

Hey I have to be bad Santa tommorrow at the Tree lighting in Carroll Park.

I have the same costume as the Santa had as a kid in A&s on Fulton St. A three day growth of beard and a pint of Four Roses in my back pocket. That smells like Christmas.
