A girl came into the shop and we were discussing how the liberals are destroying the neighborhood. She is living in Red Hook and sends her kid to PS 58 which is the local grammar school and is down the block from the store. We were marvelling how all the working class people were on one side of things and the Liberals or yuppies were on the other. By Liberal I mean the Yuppies who bought brownstones. You know the phony hipsters who have a sense of entitlement. The working class regular people whether they be Irish, Italian, Spanish, Black or South American all control their kids and are reasonable people. The yuppie liberal scum want what they want and will sue you if they don't get it.
And the worse part about PS 58 is that they have a lot of French people! I hate the French. They have a French language class that teaches the kids in French not in English. You believe that shit. It is the only one in the city. So all of these filthy Frogs want to get their kids in but can only do it if they are in the district because the seats from outside of the district are limited. But if you live in the district they have to take your kid. So this smelly French dude comes in and says "I will pay your electric bill for a year if you let me use your address to register my kid." I said "Sure there Corporal Lebeau just know that my bill is about a $1,000 a month." He shit his pants and ran as fast as he could.
I hate the French.

I was probably the only McCain supporter on my block, at least openly (I have a feeling some of the remnants of the pre-Yuppie invasion folks also voted for McCain, they just don't make a big deal about it).
That's exactly right Anthony. The old school people don't want to get into arguments with the new people. We mostly talk agomgst ourselves and laugh about them. What are you gonna do.
There are some great schools in the NYC public school system. The problem is with the junior high and the high schools. That is where you might have a problem. Good luck.

That's exactly how it is out here in the fly over boondocks. Junior high, my recommendation is get them into an all-boy Catholic school. That's where they'll get a good well-rounded education plus have a sense of right from wrong reinforced. Public schools aren't allowed to teach right anymore... just wrong.
