Another bullshit de Blasio move!

The word is that Mayor de Blasio is going to move to get rid of the sandwich boards that stores have outside on the sidewalk to get people to come in. These boards have been part of the fabric of the city for hundreds of years. But since it helps business he is against it.

I have one outside the shop that advertises sales and has a smart little saying to pique peoples interest. Another amenity of NYC life that will be destroyed by our new communist mayor.

l did this post for you today (just in case you could not make it).

If I were in Brooklyn I would do it as a sandwich board.

The fucking Commie mayor in Madison did the same thing. These motherfuckers LOVE to pick on small businesses. This guy is one and done, I guarantee it.

Yeah. A lot of the commie socialist businesses and customers are going to be affected by this.

I'm sure he's doing the best he can, bless his heart.

I like puns that are bilingual.

It's war against businesses.

Wait, that's the mayor? I thought that was the cast of Webster. My bad...

Change its name so that it is no longer a sandwich board. Call it a pate board, or something similar.

Maybe a Ché Guevara monument with information about the glorious revolution clothing for women. Put a drawing of Ché on the thing.

Or maybe "I Stand With Bill!" on the bottom of each side.

Well, clearing the sidewalks of sandwich boards makes room for more h̶o̶m̶e̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶d̶u̶d̶e̶s̶ de Blasio voters, so there's that.

Chip, how did you do strike through font?

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

I am curious too, strike out tags usually don't work with blogger comments.

Add musical notes, as long as you're 'splainin'.

I'm also not picking up on what's the supposed problemo with sign boards. Visual clutter? Tripping hazards?

chickelit said...

Are sign boards too commercial?

MamaM said...

Stroller unfriendly?

"...what's the supposed problemo with sign boards"

Reasons? We don't need no stinkin' reasons.

Is that the line showing off crosses to become smug?

Whatever the case, type or code may be, a pass has been applied, since the recommended Peck book on writing arrived. Ordered as the cheapest used copy available on Amazon, it shipped out of Missouri to arrive at my MI door bearing the library stamp of a school 30 minutes from here. Lending credence to the belief that some objects in the mirror are closer than they appear, while adding good to life. Thanks for the tip.

MamaM, blake is right, it's done with unicode. But a total PITA that cries out for a little why-do-it-yourself program.

Like this one, courtesy of some of the nicest people on the internet.

Musical notes are easy. #9834 for a single quarter-note, and #9835 for a double. (Precede each w/ a & and end each w/ a ; )

I think I've figured out the problem w/ these signs.

DeB. probably is getting ready to create a commission to approve all deli items for their healthiness. This will be called the Sandwich Board.

Gotta avoid confusing the public.
