Have yourself a Funky Christmas!
Hey we had our first Soul Christmas party as I had a live DJ spinning soul music and Christmas favorites in the store for your listening pleasure while shopping. It is going pretty well and we are going to do it every Saturday until Christmas and then probably at least once a month.
I love old school soul music that I used to listen to when I went to the movies on the Deuce back in the seventies or was playing ball in the schoolyard and the dudes had the boom box going.
This Irish Donkey kid who spins in Hanleys is a big soul fan too and I got him to DJ. Dancing and champagne and shopping ensued.

Now that I figured out how to post pictures on the blog I intend to beat it to death.
Nothing is worth doing if you don't over do it.
Dang! I would have loved that. Growing up, I was all about Motown... right up until Lionel Ritchie came and munged it up. Someday, I'm going to get over to Brooklyn. My kid is coming back for another internship - says she's a New Yorker at heart and there is no other place in world for her to be - so maybe I'll get another chance to drop by and harass the big Irish bean counter in the back room. By the way, daughter's internship this time around is a PAYING one. Thank you, Jesus!
The music went very well and we are going to do it again next week. We had a real good day and hope to continue on Sunday.
