Scarlett, Tomorrow is going to be a busy day!

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day. You see we are going on the cruise on Saturday. So I have to finish everything on Friday.

First I have to go to the fabric store and get all the fabric in Manhattan. Then I have to take it to the factory in Brooklyn and argue with Suzy Wong about production. Then I have to pick up the production and bring it back to the store.

Then home to finish packing. (We are packing right now at three in the morning)

It is going to be a lot of fun.

Go on the cruise with two pair of shorts, a few pairs of underwear and several of your hawaiian shirts. You can bring one pair of trousers just in case you need them to eat dinner in.

Travel light.

Evi, I don't think Trooper is the one you need to be talking to if his situation is like most men's.

I know, Lisa will over pack for him too.

Why go through all that when you could just stay in your nice home and think deep thoughts?

Troop, I thought you said you were going to Seatuck for Labor Day weekend?

Have a great vacation, even if it's short. Rest and relaxation and good food? Sounds like a winning weekend.

You're going cruising?

Yes. We are leaving from New York on Saturday August 31st and returning on Saturday September
7th. We are starting out in Florida for one day. It stops in Port Canaveral so people can take a day trip to Disney World. We will be staying on the ship to get massages and drinks.

Then on to the Bahamas for two stops and back to New York.

No internets. No phones. No emails. No shit!

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!

While Trooper pops dramamine, we'll mine the drama back home.

The Bahamas is fun. They drive on the wrong side so remember that when crossing streets. We stayed a week in Nassau when our kids were teens. They liked it also which is key. Great beaches and seafood.

ChipS, Because Trooper is normal. He likes to travel...like normal people.

Yes, please.

We'll house-sit here, no problem. We promise we'll look after the place, and behave, and won't make a mess.

Really.

Really.

Speaking of travel, have you noticed that the annual summer car trip was not taken this year?

Nor were there visits to sons in CA and NY.

Fear of DUI crackdowns.

Perhaps they'll get together for Kwanza or Festivus.

Dramamine? I'm not even talking about seasickness - I assume Trooper's got his sea legs by now. I me "sick ship syndrome" or whatever the Heck they call it now.

Sixty and Little Jimmy Dickens have a weather eye on the situation.

Calling for the resurrection of this old song commemorating the Christmas Cruise of 2011, with festuvities involving angry birds and a Chinese mama from the neighboring cabin, almost thrown from the deck into the seething sea:

Where were you when the ship hit the sand?

Oh! the captain he came a-runnin' up on deck
He was a-lookin kinda pale around the neck
As he sit there shoutin' orders, I stood splashin' in the water
And I ask exactly what you might expect.

Where were you when the ship hit the sand?
He said; "I was in there prayin' for dry land,
With a bucket and my breakfast in my hand!"
Where were you when the ship hit the sand?...

When the "ship" hit the "sand".

Yeah, kind of subtle...
