Did you ever get the feeling?

That a certain evil blogger lady is mad that her audience has dwindled down to mental midgets and defectives?

Or are they actual midget?

They used to be full-sized before she cut them off at the knees.

Those she cut off at the knees were old and in need of a trim!

Now the belief growing legs centers around Google data revealing the previously hidden presence of a younger, under 30's audience devoted to reading Althouse primarily for the content of the posts, while caring little about comments or engaging in commenting. After borrowed dogs, what could be more affirming and trouble free than a group of non-relation seeking readers sitting at your feet with no barking or vet visits required, before quietly returning to their own homes at night?

You're so smart, MamaM. W/o seeing your take I'd've thought that post was evidence of her gross innumeracy. But it's much more likely that, as you say, that's the readership that's most flattering to her.

Mirror, mirror!, said the wicked queen.

I first I thought you said "detectives" but that ship sailed a long time ago.

Now Meade just stalks Nick.

TLC should have kept your show on and dumped the midget farm.

She is big. It's the SiteMeter that got small.

You're so smart, MamaM.

Thank you, ChipS. An accumulation of years of barking at the wrong doors and up the wrong trees has helped wise me up some! That and the baseballs that keep being thrown across my plate by someone who knows how to pitch. Sort of like the broken clock saying, swing often enough and you're bound to hit something.

Below is a fine quote from Robert Lupton, who wrote "Toxic Charity". While the quote focuses on healthy people with hearts of compassion, the words "Blog Owners" could be substituted as the subject and the rest would still apply,

"For some reason healthy people with hearts full of compassion forget fundamentals when it comes to building relationships with those they attempt to serve. Forging ahead to meet a need, we often ignore the basics: mutuality, reciprocity and accountability. In doing so, relationships turn toxic"
