Actually, that's a pretty powerful scene. Ya wanna know why? Well, I'm gonna tellya anyway. There's only one camera. The view never changes. No cuts. No extreme close ups. Done that way for reasons of economy but it lets the tension build. Done today there would be ten or twenty changes of view at the very least, draining away the drama.
Creepy doesn't begin to describe that movie. It's horrible enough, but reading the stories of the lives and subsequent fates of many of the actors has literally given me a knot in the pit of my stomach.
I hate Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, Susan Saradon, the BJ Hunnicut guy, brussel sprouts, the Boston Red Sox, commies and well, lawyers.

Todd Browning was one of the giants of film. Unjustly ignored but his seminal contributions to the lingua franca of film are not to be denied.
Plus he was a freak his ownself.
Just sayn'
My kids love watching Freaks.
I wonder if they'll grow up and like Althouse.
Didn't that movie ruin Browning's career?
