So far it seems like a two beer race here in the poll. Bass seems to be dissed which is kind of unfair. I always enjoy a good cold Bass Ale especially on tap. It is my go to beer in most of the Irish pubs in the city to this very day.
Recently I found five bottles stashed in the back of the refrigerator.
What a great breakfast.

Bass isn't bad but Courage is better. Newcastle is the most overrated in the group. But then again, I've never met a beer I didn't like. btw, cool blog Troop.
Thanks Bushman.
I love Newcastle myself, it has the right taste for me. I can't tell you how many kegs of Bass I downed in my life as a drinking man, but it was considerable.
Glad you like John Courage, I love on tap. And Samuel Smiths Nut Brown is very taste as well. All in all they are the best of the best in my opinion.
Wandered over here from blake's place, and seeing that beer, or ale, is a topic, would like to put in a word for Smithwick's, usually in Irish joints pronounced Shmiddick's. The last time I was in Ireland (oh, many years ago) every pub had two taps, Guinness and Smithwick's, the dark and the light. Now I'm told there's a lot of Budweiser over there, but they have at last started bringing Smithwick's to the US. And I am happy about that.
Newcastle Brown always gives me a headache the next day. So though I like the taste of it, it's not for me.
Hello, Hector!
I love how that works. I wandered to your place from blake's.
I think someone mentioned Smithwick's in a different thread.
Sounds like something every Irish should try.
Love Bass on tap. I asked for it in an Irish pub in Chicago, and I almost got run out of the place. (The Irish, apparently, have no sense of humor)
Bass is makig a run for it. Come on Bass!
I like Bass on tap to, Original Mike. Shhhh... :)
And hey! The Irish do too have a sense of humor. At least I think we do.
