Remembrance of things Pabst

So the kids are in from Florida this weekend for Easter. And it’s my daughter’s birthday so we decided to go to the wine and cheese place for dinner. The only thing is that they have this new thing they are doing every Wednesday night. It seems this woman who is both a psyhic and a cabaret performer has a little show there and invites all of her friends. They fill up the joint which is great for an off night. But they put a table aside for us so it was no problem. We had a cake and everything and it was very nice.

Now the funny thing is this psychic chick. You see she is famous for being Courtney Love’s psychic. In fact Courtney was there but left a half hour before we showed up at around 10pm after we closed the store. Imagine keeping later hours than Courtney Love?

Anyway one of the owners was kind of impressed with that you know. But I was kind of skeptical. I mean how good a psychic do you have to be to predict what’s in Courtney Love’s future. “I predict that you will get drunk and high and have sex with someone who you don’t know and will wake covered in splooge with your underwear on your head.” I mean how hard is it to come up with that after all? I would be impressed if she predicted she would win the Nobel Prize for Chemistry or something. But hey everybody needs a rice bowl.

So we are having a nice birthday party with the singing going on in the background. I mean if Simon Cowell was around he would not have been pleased. But I had to call a halt to it at one particular moment in the festivities. The singer goes “I want to dedicate this next song to our great President.” And then proceeded to butcher “To Sir with Love.” Check Please!!!!!!!

I never understood the song until I saw the movie, then it made sense. So, who was he dedicating the song to, since our current President is anything but great? James K. Polk was the last great President. Seems sort of odd to dedicate a song to Young Hickory. Of course, it also seems sort of gimmicky and middle-school-ish to dedicate songs to famous people not present at the venue.

Not gonna happen. At least two prizes related to excitability have already been given out.

Courtney's a day late and a g-string dollar short.

It was a woman who sang and her patter was quite a challenge.
