Why don't you like comments douche bag.

On a related note, I have to say that a lot of sites have content moderation and delete tons of comments. What a bunch of pussies. Let people say what they want and talk back if you don't like it you jerk-offs. Jeeeez.

I must confess to having deleted a comment on my old blog. I had put up a kind of obituary/tribute piece and someone decided to drop by and slag me for comments made on another blog entirely. If they had picked any of the other posts I had up I wouldn't have deleted it, but on THAT post it had to go. There are limits to the amount of assholery (sp?) that I will tolerate. Hell, it wasn't even the top post on my blog at the time!

Hey, no one except you posts on my blog (and thanks for doing so)

Having the moderation is an easy way to know if someone posted.

Even without moderation, you should still get an email notification.

I have only deleted fairly obvious spam comments, but would delete profanity if it appeared,-since my 11 year-old daughter reads my blog.

OK, I've turned the moderation off.

And what's wrong with spam, anyway?

Sometimes it's pretty funny...

I have never had any spam, no I take that back, I got one spam post but that was not made automaticly. It was someone advertising something. I just don't think its cool and you lose a lot of sponteity that way.

Comment moderation, you mean?

Yeah, for most of us, there's no point.

That Althouse gets away with not having a general moderation process suggests that most blogs don't need one.
