Jeter is the Yankees!

Ricpic loves to bust myballs about how old the Yankees are but that has always been our problem. You see the Yankees build dynasties and win over the long haul. So our stars are the team in the twilight of their career. Now if you listen to the idiots on talk radio they say that the Yankees shouldn't sign Jeter to a big contract. Don't be stupid. He will get signed because he is going to get 3,000 hits this year and be the first player to do that solely as a Yankee. He is the captain. He will move to another position the year after next. All of the Yankee stars have done that except for DiMaggio. I mean Yogi did it for Elston Howard. Mickey did it when he could play the field. Thurman would have done it if he hadn't died. It is the Yankee way. We keep the "real" Yankees on the team. Money is meaningless.

If you want to know why Jeter is the Yankees, well just look at this photo. Then you might get the idea.

We will reload with new pitchers and move up some kids like Montero and some of the others like we have done with Robbie Cano. The Yankees will be right there again next year.

Watch and see. I guaranty it.

Ya know what I think? I think Cashman, who is a brilliant guy, knows darn well that sticking with the core four as they push 40 will not be good for the Yankees' chances in 2011 and will be disastrous beyond 2011. But he either lacks the guts to do radical surgery or he's outvoted and outgunned by management. And now they're going after Lee, who is in his mid-thirties. They must have a prejudice against youth. Meshuggah.
