"Hey Kono looking good""
"Hey Kono looking good."
"Thanks Kamekona. Say is that chicken guy still behind me."
"Nah I think he left cousin. But I have bad news for you."
"What's that cousin?"
"You might see an even fatter guy than me without his shirt on. Trooper York is going to the Hampton's."
"Damn! Good thing they ain't coming back to Hawaii anytime soon. I was there when he did a cannonball into the pool at the Hilton Hawaiian village. It set off the tsunami alert siren."

Hamptons?
Say, "Hi", to Hank and Evan from The Blonde.
Will do.
I am having lunch with them after they give hdhouse a transfusion.
I will always be the Big Kahuna around here.
Mahal-O
Ooops! I meant "you" not "I"
Should I bother with serial deletions and corrections?
No way dude. I need to keep my comment count up. It looks cool.
I hope you like the new series.
I discovered some new food and drink on the Big Island:
Portuguese sausage. I don't mean weenies, but big 14 inch tasty sausages. Costco sold these and we lived on them for a couple days.
Hawaian pork is tasty too.
Malasadas. These are another Portuguese innovation, Lentian pastry brought to the island in the 19th Century when lots of immigrants went there to work the cane fields. They first brought the ukelele to Hawai'i too.
Maui Brewing Company Beer. They sell it in the States too but I never noticed. Bevmo allegedly sells it.
Bought some Hawaian sugar cane white rum but haven't tried it yet.
I hope you like the new series.
I haven't read it yet. Sometimes I skip right to the comments.
You don't smoke cigars but the Hawaii ones are great.
And the coffee is also off the charts.
How did you like the selection of fish at Costco? Wasn't it crazy?
No reading. Just Kono.

It was amazing! One night we grill some marlin steaks caught that morning. And the sashimi! I thought we had it pretty good here. All we needed was a $350 bottle of wine.

We went through a couple bags of beans and brought some back.
The first day I bought a big can of salted macademia nuts too. Those were a bit too rich though. I brought back some smaller cans to give away.
One of the coolest things we did was to kayak to the place where James Cook was killed. A school of dolphins passed right in front of us jumping and stuff. The snorkeling there was the best. I took a mess of underwater photos of fish and coral.
In Maui they had this hotel that made macadamia nut breaded chicken cutlets.
My wife loved them and had them six out of the ten days we were there.
I make them for her now at home and let me tell you it is damn expensive.
The beach at Black Rock in Maui was one of the best I was ever in.
Ohau was great because we had friends who took us to all the local hang outs.
But I really enjoyed Maui.

We didn't make it to Maui. That will have to be another time. Our two kids are were with us and we liked all the family stuff on the Big Island. We rented a 4-wheel drive jeep to get around in and it proved essential. Some of those lava fields would destroy a regular car's suspension.
Did you see that 30 minute video at the Pearl Harbor memorial? the one narrated by Stockard Channing? It's pretty good.
Yeah it was great. We spent one day doing all the historical sights the first time we went.
The next couple of times we just partied.
Take pictures of large tits overflowing out of bathing suits.
Also, cooch shots, with and without bush.
tits.

Kealakakua Bay. The Blonde and I were there and went snorkeling. An older black couple was along, but the husband wasn't going in and asked us to keep an eye on his wife. On the trip out, we passed the time recounting many of The Blonde's misadventures (the killer yellowtail, the giant manta, etc.).
When we got to the site, we had a hour and a half to snorkel. About 15 minutes short of the end, there was a small earthquake and a bit of a rockfall from the cliff. I got the older man's wife into the boat, but had to go hunt for you know who. She couldn't figure out why all the little fishies had come out of their holes.
When I finally got her in the boat, I said, "Well,it's a sign of homage. One goddess of destruction paying homage to another". The black man's reaction? "I thought you were making up all those stories, but now I'm starting to think they're all true".

They must have a new one since we were there (2002), but you're right. The Navy does a very good job with it.
I drove down to that bay in a rental car in a driving rainfall. Could see the plaque across the way, but that was as close as I got. I drove all over the big island, traveled every open public road, I reckon, went body surfing off the north end of the island, near where the Iron Man bike race turns around.
Good times, but it's too far for me to have any interest in ever returning.
