I thought "Black Lives Matter?"

There were 29 shootings and 9 murders in Baltimore over the Memorial Day weekend. Why do we not know any of the names of the people who were shot? Why doesn’t the President and the Attorney General speak out about this genocidal level of violence against minority communities in Baltimore? Where are the protestors and the social justice warriors demanding answers about this level of violence? Where is the Mayors cries of righteous indignation? Where is the wall to wall press coverage? Where is MSNBC and CNN and Geraldo Rivera and the white haired guy with the mom who sold blue jeans? Where is the mention of this on all of the blogs who gave us Freddie Grey and Michael Brown morning  noon and night?
I thought “Black Lives Matter?”

I believe there were 56 wounded in Chicago over the weekend but they could have been Swiss or Chinese since the paper was somewhat vague on who they were.

Are you sure they weren't all Hmong? Or Meo?

Actually it really doesn't matter, it is the killing that matters, and when one group can't find a solution, how are the rest of us to do so?

I notice that Cleveland has been put under federal court ordered supervision for police activity. The pundits seem to think it is DOJ who oversees, but it is not, it a court appointed individual who reports to the court, not DOJ. A few of the anchors did acknowledge and explain that facet....e.g., the DOJ uses the court for oversight by the court. Some seem to think it will be a fairly quick resolution...but I doubt it, as the one in Detroit took 20+ years, ending only last August 2014.

Off topic: in the news of the Iraqi flight flight from Ramdadi, I've counted only three anchors and pundits who have mentioned that Bagdad did not resupply their own forces, with the supplies supplied by us, and that the flight was in part sponsored by running out of ammunition. You can have 10,000 against a couple hundred, but if you are without ammo, you have no choice. There is so much not being told that is truthful.

Off topic....Turley's has once again devolved (civility and no drive-bys was nice while it lasted) in to all about you know who and whomever she decides to promote...with staccato posts of drivel. I will be there much less, maybe not at all. The "federal court to hear..." thread is classic old style nonsense, ruining a worthy topic. Turley's blog, Turley's choice.

Given the Patriot Act is up for renewal, why isn't the issue of the Department of Homeland Security mentioned? It was authorized by the PA. No agency ever was & is a more absurd compilation of existing laws and rules than the DHS. I'd support renewal of the Patriot Act legislation if it included a shut down of the DHS. One uber bureaucracy is not a solution, it is the problem itself. More "executives" to do what? Oh, you mean the work others have already? It is one of Bush43's biggest mistakes. But it can be cured...delete the DHS and you can listen in on my phone calls all you want. Add a layer of redundant bureaucrats and I am far less trusting.
