Fancy Pants Book Signing

Well we finally recovered from the Fancy Pants Book signing for Stacy London's new book on Tuesday night.

For some crazy reason we got there early. My regular car service guy wasn't available so I had to call the car service and we left a little early. There was no traffic so we got there about a half an hour early. The event was supposed to be on the roof top. We ran into one of the make up girls from "What Not to Wear" who told us just to go upstairs. But when we got there it was a "private" party and we got thrown out! Funny shit.

We went down to the bar and who do we run into but the ghost writer of the book. And she was wearing one of our dresses as she is a customer too! So we adjourn to the bar for drinks to wait for the party which had moved to the back room of this joint. This old dude comes by to say hello to the ghostwriter girl and I offer to get him a drink but he declines. I didn't know it at the time but he was Stacy's editor and some hot shit guy at Simon and Schuster. Anyway we were talking about the show and stuff and I said that the next thing we want to do is write a book about plus size style where Lisa can give tips and stuff and he says that was great idea. Who knew?

Everybody went into the party and we met a bunch of people we know. Carmody the Make Up girl from WNTW. Her boyfriend was from Sheepshead Bay and we shared a laugh about "Wheelers." Some of the crew from WNTW. The producer who took over our show when the idiot guy got fired. And the head of BBC America production who is pretty high up. She said that BBC loved the show and is marketing it overseas. So we will see what we will see. We had a good discussion and some networking so it was very productive.

Stacy was very happy that we were there. She is great friends with Lisa and we met her family as well. They were fans of the show especailly her sister and step mom. So it was great to meet them.

We also got to hang out with Myra who was our make up artist. She also does make up for the Real Housewives for both New York and New Jersey. She does Ramona of NY and Melissa of NJ in particular. She gave us some good dirt that I can't share with you but that was pretty interesting.

All in all it was a great night. I did tip the waiters (I was the only one who did) so we got a whole lot of really good wine.

It took a day or two to recover.

You know, ever since I got HD TV, I've noticed that most everything else looks blurry. I've had my eyes checked so it's not that.

That explains the blur, actually.

When you are really drunk and you take photo's it is very blurry.

Dream scenes can also involve a disturbing lack of clarity.

Hotcha! On the connections and good time.

I'm bringing another quote from TOP over, because I like the good stuff rising out of the pretense and indecision. The competency revealed as BBS is further marketed and seen overseas, may be part of the boost paving the way for one if not two books, a serious one from her, and different look at "Brooklyn Style" from him.

That's what proven competency does. It gives intelligent people confidence in what they have not seen yet - both the people handling the task and those depending on them to do it. (Bagoh20)
