Stop Making Sense....

We spent the last two days doing the talking heads. The interviews they will splice into the show. Stacy London has been doing them with us personally. She comes the day before and we rehearse. Well actually Lee Lee rehearses since she has 99% of the lines. In the two episodes we did I had about three lines in each one. It's ok because the show has turned into "Dress Boss." Which is going to work out fine for us. If you love "What Not to Wear" you will love "Big Brooklyn Style." That is how they are selling it and I think it will be great because that is the show they created.

The one interesting thing is that do kind of respect me even though they don't use me much. In the script they have Lee Lee do a line and then have "Jim responds" or "Jim says something funny." They know I can come up something that they can use. Or something that is really great but they won't use because they are pussies.

But they also do kind of tend to delight in making me look like a stupid neighborhood dick. One line I have to say "Couture...I don't even know what that means." Just so youse guys know....I know what couture means. I just have to play along. I am not really a moron. I just play one on TV.

I am Elmer J Fudd. Millionaire. I own a mansion and a yacht.

 Just sayn'

I don't care much for "What Not To Wear." I mock those kinds of shows from my easy chair.

But I'll watch your show because it's almost like family.

I never saw What Not to Wear. But that is because I am a cow. I wear nothing.

And I have more taste than to dress how some in Madison do.

My girls and many women friends love What Not to Wear. I never was that interested in the show, but if it's similar to this I know MANY women who will watch.

Of course we will all be watching Big Brooklyn Style and heck I might even start watching What Not to Wear.

My wife does, along with Joan Rivers' show and the utterly contemptable "Project Runway" where grown men cry if they don't win.

I made a cryptic joke along those lines over at TOP but I guess nobody got it: link

I bet Troop would get it.

Did you say it with a Brooklyn accent?

Anonymous said...

That's funny stuff, I want to find one saying Hordevors, Oredevours, Orderves, Whore deVeers, oh you know.

windbag said...

oh...you mean horsie doovers...

Wait, are we talking about this Courture?

Looks like the American Gothic painting.

Will there be tits in the show?

Or at least women in bras?

tits.

Now that you mention that...

The Dude said...

No, the couple in the Grant Wood painting looked much happier.

Oh yeah!

WNTW is a remarkably positive show. The Flower watched it a lot.

We'll be watching BBS, of course.

blake said...

If nothing else, I'll be laughing at Troop.

@Sixty: Notice how the window in the Grant Wood Painting is shaped just like one of the arches in the Brooklyn Bridge? link. If I made a photoshop parody of Jim and Lisa, I'd use the bridge arch somehow in the background.

Now what could Troop be holding instead of a pitchfork? A remote?

The Dude said...

A barbecue fork.

chickelit said...

A smaller fork skewering a meatball?

The Dude said...

Perhaps someone should ask him - he might have a preference.

EBL: I thought you wore a custom-made full-length leather coat. Matching gloves, too.

Trooper: I will watch this because I love the months of back story we've already gotten and I love Lisa.

"Jim responds" or "Jim says something funny." Did you make any Obama dog jokes that have been deleted?

Oh, all of them?

BTW, the photo is great, despite the dour expressions; your wife is a real doll, you know.

Titus said...

I did not mean to say you and Lisa are miserable.

I love you and even though I don't know Lisa I think she is awesome and cute.

tits.

And Sixty the barbecue fork was funny, even though I know you hate me.

tits.

What does couture mean?

ndspinelli said...

If they tighten the shot on you it would look like a mug shot. I could see it on flyers all over Brooklyn:

THIS MAN HAS BEEN CREATING AND DISTRIBUTING PANDA AND POO BEAR PORN. IF YOU SEE HIM, CALL 911.

Threadjack warning:

Today's a banner day for me--got my first comment deletion at TOP. Seems like a rite of passage for a true TYer.

No idea what the offense was, but I figure that's just part of the Queen of Hearts shtick.

I like What Not To Wear as long as it is somewhat realistic. I like to see the transformation from schlubby to swank.

Stacy and her sidekick are never cruel or mean to the subject and they seem to really want to help the person and try to keep the changes appropriate to the person. You can tell that sometimes the transformation is just not going to stick or that the person is going to backslide into their old habits.

Maybe Trooper can get a club together and hang out with the other reality show guys and gals who have been turned into the butt and joke of the show. The brother on American Restoration, Chumley etc.

ChipS, I had ~5-6 comments deleted randomly yesterday. This is not a joke, but when I get deleted it's usually during cocktail hour, as was the case yesterday. Only 1 or 2 comments were possibly objectionable. Maybe just DWD[Deleting while drunk]. But, if you got deleted this morning maybe someones having the Breakfast of Champions[shot and a beer].

I think there must be a new "no humor" policy there. All evidence points in that direction....

chickelit said...

Is that you or John Lennon in that mugshot, Chip?

I believe that. Not at all like that witch and her courtier on "Project Runway."

blake said...

DBQ--

Yeah, I think that's why I can actually watch WNTW when The Flower has it on. Stacy and Clinton walk a fine between honesty, humor and kindness.

@chicklit--I'm seeking asylum.

This is an asylum, right?

Michael Haz said...

It's going to be awesome, Trooper. Your own TV show...imagine that, and imagine what it'll do for the shop!

This is an asylum, right?

Awesome double entendre!

Unfortunately I am gonna just be the dumb fat white guy that everybody laughs at.

Like Elmer J Fudd.

Did I ever tell you he is a millionaire and he owns a mansion and a yacht.

chickelit said...

Will Lisa make people cry?

Trooper York said...

Oh yeah there will be a lot of tears.

Titus said...

But will there bit tits?

tits.
