Whose that girl?

She is one of the most famous home schoolers in America but that was because she came to family later in her career. She had to homeschool because she couldn't say goodbye to her girl and send her off to school so she kept her at home. Nominated for an Oscar she couldn't get any more acting jobs and is now an author. Whose that girl?

First I was channeling a Cameron Crazy and chanting "Airball" at Eli, then I laughed out loud at Myers' play - that was a good heads up play he made there.

In all our years homeschooling, I met some of the hottest, intelligent women to be found anywhere. Loving, devoted moms and wives. Witty, easy to talk to, easy to look at, and generally pleasant to be around. I also met some of the ugliest, laziest, stupid hags and nags that annoyed every fiber in your being. This one looks pleasant enough, but you never can tell. She does have that earthy, granola-head vibe about her. Plenty of those in the homeschooling subculture.

Shit. Romo didn't crap himself in the last 2 minutes.

Must be a sunspot or something.

I get her mixed up with Dinah Manoff.

Not because they look alike but because Neil Simon movies of the late '70s/early '80s all run together for me.

It is a strange day when Ed Morrissey doubts the knock out game, but Al Sharpton speaks out against it...

Ed Morrissey is a hack. Doesn't surprise me that Sharpton demonstrates more horse sense. The big difference is that Sharpton is political about everything and Morrissey is stupid about most things.

To be fair, Morrissey isn't doubting that there are kids going around attacking people, he's just doubting that it's the big effin deal the media says it is. His *yawn* here seems to be trying to take a shot at the media.

I’ve been skeptical about the “knockout game” story, perhaps because I’ve seen too many “rainbow bracelet” and other such reality-disconnected hysterias over the years. Moral panics have been with us for as long as … humans have organized themselves into civilizations, probably. I can still recall the urban legend from well before my blogging days that driving with headlights on during the day in Los Angeles would have gang members targeting people for random attacks. I never did that anyway, as I’d forget to turn them off and end up needing a jump start.

That doesn’t make the attacks any less real, though. CNN asks today whether these are just random attacks getting outsized media attention or a real trend — or whether the outsized media attention is creating the trend, as NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly warns:

BTW the quote ends like it does because he embeds a video to make a point.

Once again, the cow made me look. As he did with a prior "Oh, Oh" over at Lem's, so there's a dynamic of invite in the posted Moo, even if the headline involves tale swish.

Captain Ed has always been a hack, and he's trying to get a "reasonable conservative" gig at CNN for years.

Other than some tough guy talk on Taxes and foreign policy he's a centrist/social liberal.
