I mean everyone is losing their shit about Pineda using a little pine tar. What the fuck? Whitey Ford and Gaylord Perry put more spit on the ball than the Occupy Wall Street Assholes spit on the cops. It's not the end of the world. You have to take your best advantage to win the game. Yogi used to sharpen his shin guard buckle and would rub the ball and cut it up for Whitey to throw the screwgie. I mean Whitey could make the ball dip if the label was stamped crooked.
Cut the crap pussies. There is no room for pussies in baseball.

You obviously haven't seen "A League of their Own".
I am proud to say that I never seen a movie that Madonna was in.
Oh, that's right, she was in that.
It's all right.
On the other hand I have seen every movie that Rosie has ever done.
I saw her In "Dick Tracy" and thought she was pretty good.
Otherwise, I always get her mixed up with Sineed O'Connor - aka "cue-ball"
No, i don't follow pop music much.
Rosie is great speaking other people's words. It's just when she speaks for herself, that she gets in trouble.
Sorta like Obama.
Troopmudgeon would be crying for a lifetime ban if it was a BoSox pitcher.
There is no crying in baseball.

You got to be kidding me.
That's un-American or something, in my book.
There is no room for pussies in baseball.
How do you explain the Cubs?
ST, What did you think of Sosa not getting invited to the 100th anniversary of Wrigley? And why is Sandberg managing the Phillies and not the Cubs?
TY--did you see the riding the bus, made-for-TV one?
I think pine tar helped cost the Tigers their best chance at a World Series win since 1984. The controversy just seemed like it deflated the team.
I don't know where I really come down on this, but I suspect there is a little "depends on who is caught doing it" going on right now.
This is true. Nobody ever cares when I use pine tar.
@blake
We were asked to keep mum about that.
Oh! How...awkward.
The official explanation from the Ricketts about why they did not hire Sandberg was that they wanted a complete break with the past, i.e., losing.
Sandberg was a winner. I think they made a mistake.
I doubt Sammy and the Cubs will ever make up. They must have known about his juicing. Everybody did. His head exploded into a weird anvil shape.
Sosa was universally hated in the Cubs' locker room. That's what I've heard. He has no friends among former players.
ST, I didn't know that about Sosa. I could definitely see it. He wasn't a team guy.
I'm watching your Cubs play the Brewers, 2-0 Brewers, Cubs look sloppy in the field. Villanueva is not fooling his old teammates either. Garza going for Brewers, he's been a disappointment to date.
A little bit of puke just came up, the Brewers have hoochy mama cheerleaders. This is fucking baseball!!!
Cubs are a triple A team right now.
The Ricketts decided to sacrifice several seasons in order to rebuilt from the farm system up. The Cubs are not looking to win until 2016 at the earliest. That's when all the studs will be up from the farm system and seasoned in the majors.
Which is another reason they didn't hire Sandberg. They didn't want to have to fire a guy who's an icon in Chicago.
