I am sorry teacher!

Professor Althouse decided to scold me for not linking to the catfight at her blog. I mean I just have a tiny little blog that almost everyone who comes to came from Althouse. But I am happy to link to her.

What makes it even more fun is that Beth got into it rolling around in the mud about indoctrinating her students. I have a lot of respect for Beth and I think she doesn't realize the effect her obvious intelligence and basic coolness has on her students. So I think her views can really influence her students a lot. So check out the naught school teachers as they get down and dirty.

Now if I could only get a DVD to add to my collection.

I just don't have time for the blogs like I used to. I read through the comments about 1/4 of the way over at Althouse's site, but gave up. I just came from work, and I'm changing clothes and going back to work. People should have to run their own business, meet payroll, deal with pissant customers, and worthless employees before they are allowed to vote. That would end about 95% of the bitching.

It's much calmer over here at Trooper's pad. I can keep up with the comments and the postings much more easily, although I'm deeply disappointed in the way Sophia has been passed over for a lunatic Frenchman.

...and does that teacher need any help clapping her erasers?

Hot for teacher Troop?

She owes you an apology in my opinon.

That's ok Ruth Anne, I am easy that way. Everybody loves to yell at me. I am always in trouble. And half the time I don't know why.

But the wife and I had a great time last night. We went to the new wine and cheese place and had a couple of bottles of wine and some great snacks.

And Ruth Anne, Happy Mother's Day. Your kids are lucky to have such a lioness on their side.

Awww...it's the truth. Worthy of a "Ruth Anne Defends Trooper" tag.

;-)

This is a little weird, innit?

Happy mother's day Darcy. You too blake. Cause you are a bad mother..
but I am talkin' about blake.

It's just good manners to link to a blog post you're blogging about. It's not about who has the bigger blog. I remember when you seemed to feel bad that I didn't have you on the blogroll and I never linked to you. I told you that it was because of the way you wrote over here, as if you didn't want to be seen. Not linking was part of what gave that impression. Always talking about me behind my back, like I was the teacher and you guys were the kids talking when the teacher was out of the room. Okay, do that then if that's what you want. That's how I saw it. Then you led me to think that you did want the attention, and I believed you. But if you're going to talk about me now and not link, it doesn't make sense. Either you want to be hidden away or you don't. It's your call.

Althouse now becomes Emily of the Post.

If he wants to link, he'll link. If not, he won't. School's out forever.

Darcy said...

Thanks, Trooper!

Trooper York said...

I just forget to link. And actually it was more about Zach and Palladian. But thanks for reminding me that I can link to a specific post. I don't think in those terms normally and I have to get into the swing of linking. It didn't occour to me that you would want a link from my little lemonade stand. I didn't realize that it was a big deal. I am happy to link to your posts. I don't think that will bring you a lot of readers since most of them read Althouse as a matter of course. But I will try to do better at linking.

Chennaul said...

Well maybe she doesn't like you attacking her over here.

It's akin to you talking behind her back.

Also Ann has been very good to Trooper with tags, and highlighting his comments and links to his blog-

Why the hell are you always attributing the worst motives or attributes to Ann for-it's down right uncharitable.

If you like a person and you can think of more than one reason why they are doing something if you always jump to the worst conclusion you must not think much of that person.

Chennaul said...

That last comment is directed towards Ruth Ann.

So far you've accused her of nepotsim, setting up fights on purpose for the worst reasons and now this latest....which is unfounded based on how much credit she has given to Trooper.

Ruth Anne Adams said...

Madawaskan @6:16: You're right.

Trooper York said...

Girls if you are going to fight at least have the decency to get some jello or mud into the mix.

Trooper York said...

This was just an oversight on my part and I appolgized. I promise more Linc's. Everyday. Until you are sick of them. Heh.

Nothing's worth doing unless you are over doing it.

Ruth Anne Adams said...

Are we going to choke on all the Missing Links? Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp? Linc from Mod Squad? Mary Todd's "Linc" journal? The possibilities are enticing.

Darcy said...

madawaskan, you have things mixed up, I think. Trooper's sly references to Althouse over here...well, at least in my opinion, are teasing. I have always gotten the impression that he has a great deal of affection and respect for her. He makes fun of everybody he likes! Can't you see that? If you can't, you haven't been reading here much.

And I have to defend Ruth Anne. She was defending what she thought was a nepotism charge - she wasn't the first to throw that out. And isn't she entitled to her opinion about the commenter fights? Sheesh.

I think Trooper and Althouse give each other a lot of credit in their own ways.

Darcy said...

Ok...didn't realize the bell had rung, there. And just as I was mixin' up some jello! Dang. :)

Trooper York said...

Ruth Anne you are always two steps ahead of me.

Maybe we can get Titus to wax poetic about dropping Lincoln Logs instead of loaves.

Ron said...

RA, if he waxed poetic about Lincoln Logs wouldn't that make him a Republican?

Trooper York said...

Titus is more interested in the sausage lincs. Well at least the sausage.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I believe you started that whole teacher/student meme. Here's the latest example. WTF was up with that post? Did you seriously expect anybody to sift through that 30 min blooggerhead to find the answer? As an artist, you're sometimes like an inventor, who by statute, is obliged to disclose the best mode of carrying out their invention if they expect a patent. They often do so, but deliberately obfuscate. It does the public no good.

Ann Althouse said...

@chickenlittle That was about Esquire Magazine. The update to the post you linked to says it clearly. Before that, it was just something that was funny because it was out of context.

@ madawaskan Thanks.

chickelit said...

"That was about Esquire Magazine. The update to the post you linked to says it clearly."

That says nothing to me. Is there more context in the 30 min video you linked?

Ruth Anne Adams said...

Chicken Little: Long, long ago, the year before Althouse attended law school, she had a job reading all sorts of magazines for a PR firm or somesuch. She was mentioning that she did indeed read Esquire during the 70s and she thought it was good. I cannot believe you didn't know that or weren't willing to invest the mere half hour it might take to learn that!

Yes Trooper, what sort of burlesque establishment are you running here? If you want your camel toe humor to be taken seriously you have to behave properly.

It's not about who has the bigger blog.

With men it's ALWAYS about who has the bigger blog.

I remember when you seemed to feel bad that I didn't have you on the blogroll and I never linked to you. I told you that it was because of the way you wrote over here, as if you didn't want to be seen.... Then you led me to think that you did want the attention, and I believed you.

You led her on Trooper!

But if you're going to talk about me now and not link, it doesn't make sense. Either you want to be hidden away or you don't. It's your call.

Yes look at all the attention Jaltcoh gets on his blog from her front page mentions. Meade even said four words over there once this month. Can you give that up?

It's not like we have a system of followers we can communicate with on our own. Or as if we can put links to posts we thought were interesting in blog posts independently of her.

I want to pat myself on the back for a few things. I don't normally do that because most the time I question everything I do and say.

First I produced hogs, loaves and logs in the lexicon of Althouse and Trooper. For that I deserve some sort of award.

Next, I educated everyone to the rare clumber spaniel. A breed that probably many of you never heard of.

And Finally I was the catalyst for Althouse to add Troop to her blogroll. Go back through the pas postings. It was me. Me dammit. Me. Yes, me.

OK, now I will go back to hating myself.

reader_iam said...

How all this stuff can still make me passing sad, in at least two senses, is beyond me, but there it is. Whatever.

Anyway, the reason I stopped by is to say, "Well done & good job, Troop," in your attempts to tack between the breaking waves. (Woulda e-mailed but you, like me get busy or whatever, & don't always get to e-mails too quickly [not snark, far from it, just fact] and I wanted you to know I thought that. I still haven't made it all the way through the relevant comments threads--don't even go into a lot of 'em, much less follow to the bitter end, much less thoroughly, as I used to--but a couple of your comments, along with your relevant multiple posts here and up-blog, struck me.

So. Just wanted to say that.

Insert ")" after "...I thought that."

Same old sloppy reader_iam, when it comes to blog comments. Heh.
