Brandon DeWilde. I was in basic training with this guy. True story. Of course he was in basic for about 15 minutes and then strings were pulled. All I can remember is he wouldn't deign look at us lower beings for the insufferable 15 minutes he had to spend in our presence. Died young which doesn't change the fact that he was stuckup Hollywood royalty.

Is it true that Mrs Starrett ran away with Shane but the studeo PR guys kept the story quiet?No wonder the kid had problems.
I love that movie. Especially love the presence of Jack Palance. Intimidating and dark full through.
