Why do I have to write a ransome note to comment now?

I went over to our pal EBL's site and saw that nobody has commented in quite awhile. Since most of his posts are political I can understand that but we should drop by now and then and show some support. She posts up a storm and often has an interesting take. But you have to do some bullshit with word verification and what not. Lost of blogs have instituted that. Supposedly to avoid spam. I haven't had a problem with spam so I don't do it. I can't imagine that these blogs have that problem. I don't get. But I do think the harder you make it to comment the less people want to comment.

I check it a couple times a day. Some top notch stuff there and some cool sites over in the sidebar to check out.

I did not impose that word verification thing. The Google masters did that. I did a Hunger Game post because I figure I will get a zillion hits. I did a post on The Walking Dead and I was getting hits all the time.

But thanks for stopping in over there.

I want to start building up your show with posts when it comes closer to the preview time. Any word when that will be?

May 29th at 10 pm.

Anybody who is in New York that day is invited to the Premiere Party at Marco Polo.

I think you can get rid of the word verification is you noodle around in the design area of the blog. I do that when they change something to try to get it back to the original format or as close as I can get to it.

I do not delete anyone, but if J showed up he would get the boot. So I will try to get rid of it.

EBL, I was late to your blog posts on Afghanistan, but I did just leave a comment on one of them. I will have to stop by daily, you have some good stuff, even though it's mostly conservative, but hey, I'm an independent now. I think.

I had to change a couple of things to make it reader friendly because of crazy changes blogger made without me asking for it.

It never ends.

More Veleeta! Not much, just a titch, in the form of another entry point, similar to a Cafe or Whose that author/girl or Guess the Oranges/Song/whatever where anything goes.

While the political stuff at EBL is already covered with a light sprinkling of grated cheeze, the kind that helps the broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus go down, a little nab direct off the old block sometimes hits the spot. Especially with crackers.

I don't go there because I figured EBL is either Meade or Althouse. Maybe EBL is the former Fred for Pres, I don't know. And at some point I stopped trying to figure it out. Also stopped caring. For all I know EBL is Bissage.

In any case, that site is unattractive, difficult to read, the content sucks and EBL does not amuse me.

I am sorry I do not amuse you Sixty Grit.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

I am Althouse's twin cow sister. But I am not the evil one.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Sixty Grit, I am there to please. Tell me what content you would like to see.

The Dude said...

Dude, you, in the words of the immortal Ricky Nelson, have to please yourself. Trying to please me or any other wandering soul is not the path to follow.

Just keep doing what you are doing.

And, just for the record, Joe Pesci amuses me.

I like EBL. However, a couple months back I clicked on a link and got a nasty virus. I'll give her a try again. I don't remember the link but it was sometime in January.

I resemble that remark in more ways than one.

Sorry about the virus. Let me know the source and I will track it down and get rid of it.

Sixty, I just post on whatever crosses my mind at the moment. But I do appreciate feedback.

I am definitely not Meade. Meade bans me even from his crappy half ass blog. I told Meade that I do not want to post at Althouse anyway (I do not) and I wished him and Ann the best (I meant it) and the little fucker deleted that! I was not even being snarky. He is really into secret emails.

Creepy!

I've wondered who EBL is. But not IRL--more like how could someone that talented have come out of nowhere?--EBL must have been somebody else gone missing. But that as far as I care to go with those sorts of things and it's just normal human curiosity.

EBL picks up a whole lot of news stories and writes them up in very original ways. I too have thought and wondered why more people don't comment there. I could comment there myself more often but I already here too much.

Evi L. Bloggerlady said...

Thanks for the thoughts! I am happy to post topics you are into too. Just let me know and I will see what I can find.

EBL's site is probably more purely political than I care for these days, but it IS clever and well-done, IMHO.

I've thought of commenting, but, speaking for myself, I'm pretty thoroughly blog-commented-out. Blog comments are just not that attractive a medium of communication any more.

Sorry.

And CL, I did intend to do a lot of Titanic linkage to you for April. You have the best stuff for the 100 year aniversary.

I welcome comments and try to respond to the few I get. At the same time I have never had to delete any comments (no spammers or Js).

For a week or two following The Big Moo, I mistakenly thought EBL was the ingenious solution of the Two at TOP. I responded in kind, impressed by the humor behind what appeared at first to be an original and in your face approach to all the goofy rumors and animosity directed at them. I was disappointed to learn this was not their response nor their little cow, but continue to respect the new EBL's determination and ability to turn fodder into digestible milk product, fit for human consumption .

Not joking about more Veleeta though. A few additional entry points every now and then might help build trust and connection, and gather a large response community.

I guess something's wrong with my brain because I almost never get the CAPTCHA right the first time.

Sometimes I fail at it so much, it gets tougher. Presumably to foil spambots, but it pretty much takes me out, too.

Make it easy or fugedaboudit.

Sheeyit, I allow anonymous comments on my blog.

Ah, MamaM, I, much earlier. thought the same of you: Mrs. Brown herself (anyone familiar with Sir Archy's century might understand the name) slumming, in an arch way, behind a nom de plume.

We were both wrong, so very wrong.

Turns out, there really is no joy in Mudville. And it has a lot more to do with the proprietor and groundskeeper of the ballpark than Casey, whomever he might be.

They should have adopted me. They would have gotten plenty of butter and ice cream. Instead Meade and Ann went deletion mad and then cried foul because I would not email them? WTF? Why do they need me to email them?

OK, I guess it's time to remind folks here just who bellowed the Moo then went around the blogoshere. Mooo.

I am mooor than happy that my unfortunate moo helped inspire a wonderful new blog though!
