You know what a liquid diet leads to?

You end up blowing everything out your ass!

Liquid Diets are a fad promoted by quacks. And if you are on one once you go off of it you will just get all the weight back. You just need to eat sensibly and exercise.

That means eating a big steak and salad and having a lot of hot sweaty sex.

Now that's a diet!

Comment Allie-vous?

Exercise and eat sensibly. I found the most important walk for me is not the power walking I do on the beach during the day, but the classic Italian stroll after dinner. I have over a decade gone from 280 to 215. It was a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Hot juicy steaks, big green salads and all the goodness they contain, mmmm mmmm mmmm.

I just read somewhere that one doesn't have to do power walks, a nice stroll daily does you just as much good, or as Trooper says, other exercise is great too. Not getting any younger, have to make hay while the sun shines. Or is that roll in the hay while the sun shines?

Find Waldo. Can you spot the person who's on the liquid diet in the picture?

We walk every day but our long walks were put on hold because of the filming. We both lost about 15 pounds during the filming just by what we had to do ever day. But we want to continue to eat healthy and lose more in a sensible way.

Maybe it says Walkershaw County.

Trooper, when I started eating healthier, it was because I was pre diabetic, took statins for high cholesterol and had some pretty severe heart palpitations and was on a BP med. I'm now off the BP med, Off the statins, BGs have come back to normal and palpitations are gone . Even when I drink several cups of coffee, none. My focus was not really to lose weight, but was a great side effect.

Good Lord, that pic is gross. lol

But I had to comment on the steak, salad and sweaty sex thread.

Aye.

I mix the steak with the salad. So good.

And lol, Sixty.

The Dude said...

Yeah, LOL indeed, but he didn't need to go all Titus on us. Some things are better kept to oneself.

No I did not, lol. But I'll take the rum and coke anyway. what's him name Curious George is a jerk , always has been a jerk and I don't expect anything but jerky behavior from him, but you dear Chickie......

Oh he'll, I don't know why I get tempted to go over there, I'm actually sick to death of politics, didn't even want to discuss it this weekend with all the steak eating conservatives, but they are all concerned and being the softie I am I felt sorry for them. ;)

HELL

The Dude said...

Where?

chickelit said...

Allie, you are just obsessed with those "steak eating conservatives." It's such an original & odd catch phrase that you just have to describe more about them.

chickelit said...

The equavalent would be me saying I was going to spend a weekend with "tofu-eating liberals."

(1) Do they "all" really eat tofu?
(2) Are they all "liberals"
(3) Why do they travel in packs?

;)

windbag said...

Compassionate, carnivorous conservatism is right for you.

Anonymous said...

Waukesha County is filled with conservatives and some of them are even related to me. I don't blame them for eating steak, I eat it right along with them and love it. I would never eat Tofu, disgusting stuff. I actually really like most of the conservatives I socialize with. They all know I'm a liberal and we even agree once in a while.

95 percent of these folks are fiscal conservatives, not social conservatives. Business people, lots of them manufacturers who ship jobs overseas, doctors, attorneys and generally decent folks. My social circle in Chicago are mostly liberals and Democrats.

The Dude said...

Thanks, but no thanks Oopie. Those people and their comments make me ill. Please refer to the picture Troop so kindly posted. That's what Althouse and her sycophant hillbilly commenters make me do.

Sixty, I'm laying off politics entirely for a while, I'm not kidding when I say I'm sick to death of politics.

The Dude said...

They cause the contents of my alimentary canal to liquify. Fuck them all, Althouse and her little dog Meade, too.

The whole stinkin' bunch of them are unworthy of further consideration.

Who knows I may emerge from my self imposed politics sabbatical an Independant.

The Dude said...

I have been registered as an independent for 20 years now. I really don't care for republican meddling in people's private lives nor democrat's desire to spend us into a Greek-like state of economic collapse.

And anyone who proposes more government as the solution to any problem should be, well, the new Sixty will refrain from suggesting what should truly happen to them.

chickelit said...

That's what Althouse and her sycophant hillbilly commenters make me do.

See, this is where you and I part ways, Sixty. I was born from hillbilly stock. I even had a missing tooth bridged when I was 18.

Yep. I only have 31 teeth. That may be why I find Ellie May Clampett so fetching.

I always push back hard on the anti-hillbilly bigots and the anti-southern bigots on Althouse because I figure them to be wispy-chin-haired metrosexuals from coastal urban enclaves.

chickelit said...

I'm registered as an independent too and so won't be able to vote in CA primary unless there is a ballot measure (there usually is).

That's worth reposting. Amen.

Chickie, it is late and my writing is not what it should be. My roots in the south go back 300 years in the hills of Virginia on my father's side and on my mother's side to Capt. William Hilton, who found an island off the coast of South Carolina in 1664 and named it after himself. I still reside south of the Mason Dixon line.

Yeah, I botched that previous comment. Oh well, I am tired. Further exposition on my part would only serve to raise my blood pressure and since this is a private blog, any slagging I did would miss its intended target.

Earlier today I was watching an episode from season 1 of "Justified" and noticed that, in a night scene, the driveway of one residence was lined with eucalyptus trees and the gravel was covered with eucalyptus leaves. That's odd, says I - those don't grow in Kentucky. Later, as Raylan was driving up to the cabin in "Bulletville" I noticed he was driving through a forest of live oak trees and crossed a bridge built in a style I frequently saw in rural northern CA. A bit of research led me to the fact that only two episodes were not filmed in California, and those two were filmed in Pennsylvania. The trees did not lie. I guess film makers don't expect us to notice such things.

What were we talkin' about?

I love those live oak trees with the moss hanging from them, Savannah and Tallahassee were so pretty. Beaufort was quaint, loved the drive to Savannah from Hilton Head. There is something to be said for the South.

California live oaks are a different species than the ones we have along the coastal plain here. Here we have Quercus virginiana, out there, Quercus agrifolia. They look very different.

Not tryin' to be fighty here, just sayin'...

I haven't a clue as to what kind of trees CA has except for Redwoods. In Oceanside there were some pretty trees that actually turned red in early winter.

I think it is interesting how people have a thing for trees.

There was a big dustup recently that I heard on the news where this woman, who was getting stoned blew up this really old tree somewhere-I believe in Florida.

People were really pissed.

My parents love their pine and blue spruce trees. I planted them with my dad at his farm and at our house when I was like 10 and now they are fucking huge and beautiful.

In the winter the birds that stick around hang out in them.

And don't get me started with the birds, my dad is fucking crazy about all the birds in the backyard. He feeds them, changes their water, has special bird bathes. Names them. Knows which birds are "coupling". And when the humming birds come back he is in heaven. People really love birds.

I think it nice people like birds and trees.

tits.

Speaking of voting I am voting for Scott Brown. He seems like a decent guy and I like his politics.

His wife his hot too.

@Allie: The red one could have been one of these ~ Australian Bottle Brush. They're everywhere and do well. We have two in the back. Bougainvillea also have red tissue paper like leaves. I can't think of any red leaved deciduous trees. There are also flowering shrubs along the freeways. People plant all kinds of things but none of them are native. A favorite small flowering plant is called sea lavendar: link. It grows wild along the coast. It remnds me of lilac except it has no fragrance.

Speaking of eucalyptus trees, they are not native to California, either. They were imported by a guy who wanted to make a fortune by planting trees that matured quickly then saw them down for lumber. Sadly, there are over 300 varieties of eucalyptus trees and he picked the wrong kind.

They do have fragrant leaves, though. Smells like you are walking through a cough drop factory.

Around the third week of April I'll go and get the 25 balsam fir trees that I ordered through Polk County. I'll plant them on the hill side that I removed all of the evil box elder trees last year. Last year I bought 25 norway spruce trees potted them in the spring, and then in the fall planted them on the same hillside. I've planted about a 1000 trees out here, mostly red cedar tres along my fence lines. I like a nice tree.

Anonymous said...

Chickie, I think that they may have been the Bottle Brush, very pretty!

Anonymous said...

Wow Allen, I bet your land must be gorgeous. Your place has got to be several acres at least.

AllenS said...

I like to plant trees, and build rock walls, and some other things.

chickelit said...

@Allie: The bottle brush really attracts hummingbirds. It drives the cats crazy. They get afflicted with I call "bird mouth" which is like a lock-jaw tetanus state--they hold their mouths half open and make a funny noise.

Anonymous said...

Great hobby, I'm not good at building rock walls, I'd break a fingernail. But gardening is great, especially now that I have a raised bed, less weeds , less bending.

And I wear gloves.

Anonymous said...

Chickie, is that what you call that? My daughter's cat is going crazy with the windows open now, she scared me a few minutes ago with some crazy noise , it must've been bird mouth.

The bottle brush tree is gorgeous, no doubt the hummingbirds love all that red.
