We are taking in a new line of clothing from a California manufacturer called Melissa Massie. She actually came to the store to show us her stuff and among other stuff we ordered the three dresses you see here. Now this can give you some idea of the problems we have when purchasing goods. You have to be able to visualize how these clothes will fit on a body and moreover on a plus size body. Not always an easy thing to do. Now the wife and couple of girls tried on some of her stuff to see what it looked like but not all of the samples they had were in the right size so a lot of guesswork is involved. That is what gives us a major amount of stress. There are a million decisions that go into putting together a season. How many dresses? How many tops? How many pants? What accessories should we get to go with this line? It is the farthest thing from an exact science as you can get. You have to go with your gut and if you are right three times out of five you are doing great.
We will be at the Fame, ENK and Moda shows on Monday and Tuesday and it will be more gut wrenching decisions one after another. But hey that's what you sign on for when you start a business so that's just the way it is.
