Well they are in the Store now filming
Well they are filming in the store right now. I am watching Stacy and Clinton talking with the subject on the stores security camera. There is a crew of about fifteen people, but I am sitting in the back with the producer and the make up and hair stylists. We have some great sandwiches today. Sopersata and provolone. Grilled vegetables with fresh mozzarella. And everybody's favorite prosciutto with mozzarella and basil and tomato. Plus pastries of course.

One thing I always thought was a bit weird about WntW is that they often don't even show what store they are in... and they rarely, if ever, say the actual name. With all the effort the stores put in to prepare for the show, you would think the show would be a bit more conscienscious in giving you all a shout-out.
Well, a lot of stores don't put in any effort and thats why they don't go there as often as they do to our store. They generally give a quick glimpse of the the front of the store. But you see I do it Brooklyn style. So I made friends with all of the carmera men who are there all the time. You see they have a different director everytime but the camera guys are always the same. So I take care of my guys with some sandwichs and pastries. They tell me that the other stores don't even give them a glass of water. That's why my logo is all over the shot. Now I placed them inside the store so it is always in the background of the scene. The big stores like Macy's and Filense don't really care because they have a contract. We put in a lot of extra effort, but we do the same thing in the store itself. That's what makes us different.
They are airing the last one they shot on Friday August 29th. In that one Clinton actually said "I know it's really hard for you to find clothes, that's why we brought you to Lee Lee's Valise." The head production assistant grabbed my wife's arm and said "He never does that. They must really like you."
I feel like a 300 lb Sally Field.
I have watched the show enough over the years to know that's a big compliment.
I was glad to read on one of your other posts that Stacy and Clinton really do care about the guests and spend a lot of time with them off-camera. I figured that was the case, but the show does a poor job translating that warmth to the screen. I mean, I know, as you say, the show has to have "conflict" and all that, but you still want to think the hosts care and don't just abandon the guest--who's probably feeling very insecure--as soon as the cameras are off.
They are working with her right now. They have all the clothes on a rack and she is trying everything on and they are working as to what works with her shape. It is calm and interesting and informative. But it's not TV. They will spend about two hours with just Stacy and Clinton and the two stylists as they go over the clothes and make outfits. What we want is to make the "reveal" which is when they show the stuff to their family and friends. So far our stuff has been in the reveal three out of the four episodes we shot. This is the fifth one. I hope one of our outfits make it.
We do always score one of the outfits when the girls show off stuff with Stacy and Clinton but we want to get the reveal.
The show is really about outfits. Which is what our store is about. And now the stylists are working with my wife much more than they did in the begining. This is better for them because she knows every garment in the store so she can set them up right away and save a lot of time. She just got them a little summer weight cardigan that made an outfit work. So things are going quicker and smoother for them, which makes them want to come back.
Plus we have pastries.
Plus we have pastries.
You know, I'm not a plus-sized woman, but I'll definitely head over if I'm in Brooklyn.
