Well it looks like cinnamon rolls is really rolling in this poll. So to speak. Now I don't know why it is so popular. When I go to coffee cart in the morning I never get a Cinnamon roll. I might get a Boston Creme or a Jelly Donut or a Kaiser Roll with Butter or an Onion Bagel with cream cheese or a French Cruller or a bear claw or a raisin danish or a strawberry cheese danish or a glazed donut or a Bavarian Creme Donut or a vanilla frosted donut or an apple turnover or bran muffin with butter or even a piece of pound cake.
But in all the 30 years I have been buying a nosh at the coffee cart I never bought a cinnamon roll. So I don't know why you guys love it so much. I saw a commercial the other night for Popin Fresh Cinnamon rolls that you get in the can and my wife said they were great. I said to her, "you never ask for that when I make you breakfast, what's so great about that." It seems her mom used to make it back in the day because it was easy. I usually make her french toast or home made waffles or blueberry pancakes or an omelet with scallions and Gruyere and shaved Parmesan when I make her breakfast. Who knew I just had to break a frozen tube over the counter and serve up glop.
I just don't do that kind of stuff.

Well, make it from scratch. The smell from the oven will change your mind.
I like ones dense enough that you can unroll them as you eat. They should also be moist on the inside, but not doughy. And the crust on the bottom should be nicely crunchy.
I have been looking at the recipes and it seems like a lot of work for such a little payoff. I would rather fry up some dice pancetta and scallions and some peppers and add some light stirred eggs and top off with some Guyere and shaved parmisan cheese. With strawberries and cream on the side. Bellinies and coffee. And a glass of ice cold coffee. That's what my baby gets for breakfast.
Well I guess that's easier.
I'd prefer crispy bacon, sausages, steak (with some poached or sunny side up eggs on top), Belgian waffles with whipped cream and fresh strawberries (wild preferred), home fries, buttered toast, scrambled eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, and coffee with condensed milk (iced).
Geez, Trooper. Where are all the guys like you? :)
Hungry again.
And you too, Jason!
I need to quit reading this blog...it's making me feel fat.
My diet doesn't let me eat any of this stuff. But if I did, it would be a cinnamon roll so I guess I'll go over and vote.
I voted for Kaiser Roll because I've never had a bad Kaiser Roll. Other than stale how can you screw up a Kaiser Roll? All the other rolls are screwed up every day by whoever serves them. That was my reasoning. Pretty smart I am.

yabbut....
What do you have when you have a Kaiser Roll. All it will ever be is a Kaiser Roll.
It's got no life. It's got no gooey goodness. It's got no sensual appeal.
It's got no guilt.
Wrap me in your cinnamon...
No guilt? A Kaiser roll has about 30 gm of refined carbohydrates. That, my friend, is diabetes on a plate.
I have never had a jelly roll but I think they look a little suspicious.
A nice hot kaiser roll with fresh creamy butter in the morning is a great breakfast treat.
I will have to go with cinnamin. My mom makes the best.
Don't forget the cheese grits!
