A portal as of shadowy adamant
Stands yawning on the highway of the life
Which we all tread, a cavern huge and gaunt;
Around it rages an unceasing strife
Of shadows, like the restless clouds that haunt
The gap of some cleft mountain, lifted high
Into the whirlwinds of the upper sky.
Stands yawning on the highway of the life
Which we all tread, a cavern huge and gaunt;
Around it rages an unceasing strife
Of shadows, like the restless clouds that haunt
The gap of some cleft mountain, lifted high
Into the whirlwinds of the upper sky.
And many pass it by with careless tread,
Not knowing that a shadowy...
Tracks every traveller
even to where the dead
Wait peacefully for their companion new;
But others, by more curious humour led,
Pause to examine;—these are very few,
And they learn little there, except to know
That shadows follow them where’er they go.
Not knowing that a shadowy...
Tracks every traveller
even to where the dead
Wait peacefully for their companion new;
But others, by more curious humour led,
Pause to examine;—these are very few,
And they learn little there, except to know
That shadows follow them where’er they go.

Is the admiration for PBS due to him running away with a 16 y.o.?
Never in my life would I have expected this poem on a blog.
No it is admiration for his wife who invented Herman Munster.
I put a lot of poems on my blog hd.
Great of you to guess the author right off the bat.
You are pretty smart for an old goat.

Actually, Jack Pierce invented him--the "look" at least. I learned this from someone who called himself Laurajean. Ask Beth, if she ever sets foot back here.
He was also a judge in My Cousin Vinny.
Toody and Muldoon.."Car 54 where are yoooooou"
Because I could not stop for death
He kindly stopped for me...
