There's something about Mary.

AllenS was kind enough to link to a photo of his horse. How cool is that to own your own horse?

I would love to own a horse. I could just imagine riding down Court St and riding down people who got in my way like a Cossack or something. That would be way cool.

I love that people who have a life very different from mine are kind enough to comment here. I love to find out how about people live. It is very interesting to me.

Horseback riding is fun.

I once rented a horse on the West Side and rode it through Central Park on the bridal trail. The stable was not right on the park but I picked up my horse at the park so I assume the groom rode it there. But I think that stable is now closed.

I went horseback riding this summer with my eight year old girl at Glacier. She loved it. We just missed seeing a grizzly bear, but after we rode we saw a big black bear.

I could have beaten a plow share into a sword for you.

I love to bet on horses. Does that make me a lover of horses?

Spinelli, an interest is an interest.

We used to ride horse at Prospect Park stables which is where you would get horsemanship merit badge.

It required a lot of horseshit shoveling as I recall.

There was a bunch of black cowboys who used to ride their horses to downtown Brooklyn and parked them in front of Cousins Bar on Court St and Amity. These drunk girls would come out to pet the horse. They would get a ride and then they would get ridden. It was always pretty funny to see these guys rap. It always worked iike a charm.

TY, I couldn't even come close to telling you how many times I've gotten women interested in myself by merely informing that I had horses to ride. Females love horses.

Now, major problem. I have new neighbors, about a quarter of a mile from me, up on the hill, so they can see my place. Young girl, very young, probably under 15 yo, has been up here twice to pet Mary, or bond, whatever. Twice, I've told her she's too young to be here, and that she has to have her parents permission. Gave her my name and phone number to give to her parents, but no call. I want to be helpful, but this is not good. 20-30 years ago, no problem, but not now.

Cows get no respect. No respect at all.

I hear boats work too. At least they do for me! Horses not so much.

AllenS said...

EBL, that's because nobody wants to ride a cow. Unless you're a lawn ornament.

AllenS you are exactly right. I would be even more proactive by dropping them a note. Then if she comes by again I have a suggestion. Nanny cam.

Film your interactions and have them downloaded on your harddrive. Or tell the neighbors that she can only come to visit the horse when she is accompained by an adult.

Better safe than sorry.

I know exactly what you mean.

Woah nelly....I mean Allen

Be careful!!! Get the parents involved. Get in their faces and let them know that you are not open to having a teen girl drop by unaccompanied by an adult. Do NOT be alone with this kid. In addition, this kid probably doesn't know much about horses and could be hurt. Horses are big, strong, not always exesssively smart and can easly hurt you by accident...or more likely on purpose.

Teenage girls like horses because they are full of raging hormones and horses just add fuel to the fire.

BTW: Not all females like horses. I don't care for them one way or the other. They are nothing more than expensive hay burners .

Unless there is a real function or purpose to having them around they are nothing more than a fancy luxury status symbol. Rounding up cattle, going on hunting pack trips, for transportation etc. purpose. Standing in a field looking pretty....waste.

It really annoys me when people treat horses like they are some sort of large house pet and keep them penned up. They are working animals and need to be exercised and ridden.

Do NOT be alone with this woman child.

Make sure that the people who visit your horse know that horses are actually tall alligators, willing and able to bite off innocently proffered fingers, and the occasional ear.

Horses pinch huge loafs.

I loved horse back riding as a kid and teen, as I said in another comment the most beautiful horse I ever rode was a Golden Palomino, he was a wonderful horse, not mine, but oh how I wished he was.

I used to own a Palomino, but I can't find a picture of him at the moment.
