Patroits great Houston Antwine passes and his wife passes 24 hours later.

Former great defensive end for the Boston Patriots Houston Antwine passed away Monday and his wife Evelyn followed him 24 hours later. They seemed to hold on for each other but couldn't stay apart. You see that a lot with people who really love each other and live to an old age.

Houston was a hell of a defensive player for the Patriots in the old AFL days. I used to love to watch him and Babe Parilli the QB beat on the dog ass Jets who even then were big mouth losers. Houston was an All-AFL player and could really rush the passer. He gave Joe Willie the willies back in the day.

May they both rest in peace.

Old Pats fans have told me about those days. Kinda sorry I missed them. But Antwine is legendary around these parts, and for all Patriots fans, old and new, may he rest in peace.

Allie, You obviously have a great family. But, the loss of a loved one is always tough during Christmas. My heart goes out to you, but it is comforted by knowing you have a loving family surrounding you.

Never hesitate to tell us stories about your late husband as well as your days working @ the "nervous hospital."

You'll appreciate this. My daughter has always been fascinated by the mentally ill. Not a rude fascination, but it started @ a young age when she got to know my schizophrenic Aunt. obviously, Cuckoo's Nest and Sling Blade are a couple of her favs.

in 2006 we took a trip to Italy. We were walking to the U. of Rome and walked past the Clinica della Nervosa y Mentali...their "nervous hospital". She was a freshman in college @ the time. I said lets walk in. She was hesitant but the curiosity took over. It was very old but clean. The patients looked pretty well cared for and since it was the Christmas season there were families visiting. It is comparable to our state hospitals. I've been to a few in different states. There's no better education than travel. None.
