After trying to ride a tide of sympathy due to the death of his wife, American Idol douche Danny Gokey announced his engagement to some broad. His wife passed three years ago. Three years ago. He announced the engagement on a website which is dedicated to the memory of his wife. Does he remember his wife? She died three years ago.

Do you think three years isn't long enough to grieve? He's young, why not ? But then again I was raised in Milwaukee.
Granted, it's tacky to announce his engagement on a website dedicated to his wife's memory.
The guy has the liberal doofus look down too: all black, the glasses, the three day beard (well probably three weeks for him).

Most marriage vows read "til death do us part" which is certainly not an eternity.
My mother was miserable for several years after my father passed. She met a widower and they married. She was actually worried whether this would be OK with me and my brother. She got my blessing. Condemnation is above my pay grade.
I don't condem. But I question. It just doesn't seem right to me.

I think three years is long enough IF you find someone as great as the one you lost, but a huge mistake if one remarries for the wrong reasons.
My husband told me to not stay alone too long, I needed to find the right one though, easier said than done when your first one set the gold standard.
