Whose that author?

“Choice... He has no real choice, has he? Self-interest, the fear of physical pain drove him to that grotesque act of self-abasement. Its insincerity was clearly to be seen. He ceases to be a wrongdoer. He ceases also to be a creature capable of moral choice."

That is from one very well written book. The author had a way with words that is very rare. Some say the title was from an old Cockney phrase, some say they never heard it. The movie was interesting, and even though I am not a big fan of the director, at least they got the music right - Beethoven. My droogs and I love our lovely Ludwig van.

But on the bright side Joe Paterno is dead and the machine he ran to protect his friend Jerry Sandusky is being slightly reworked. The evil done on his watch will never be undone, sadly, but even more sad is that Joe took the coward's way out of this mess. Oh to have been able to work some horrorshow ultraviolence upon that veck's malenki vitso and golova.

Well..I've been real tough on JoePa. But, when someone dies I simply say rest in peace and my prayers for the living.

The moral.."Pride comes before the fall."

Burgess denied writing that by the end of his life, much as Stravinsky denied writing Rite of Spring.

Ravel didn't deny writing Bolero, but he did say something like "It's my greatest work. Too bad there's not a note of music in it."

I think Alex of Die Toten Hosen wrote that.

Who needs music when listening to an orgasm?

I love the Bolero.

Bolero was an student exercise - write a piece of music that is one long crescendo - Ravel did it. I like how the melodies, I think there are a total of two of them, move from instrument to instrument, first solo, then in groups, finally, the whole mess of 'em all squawkin' at once. That there is writin', I'm gonna tell you what.

Yep, simple, catchy, popular - all the things snobs can disdain.

There is not enough heat in Hell to roast that enabler hot enough to pay for the crimes that occurred on his watch, committed by his "friend".

Sometimes death is too easy an escape for the truly evil.
