Thank God it's a live and let live world because I never got the appeal of either one of these Brits.
And actually I'm not above the appeal of Friends but Kudrow didn't really show much in the way of comedy chops until she starred in that series that went belly up in five seconds. I think it was on HBO but could be wrong and I can't even remember the name of it but she was good in it.
Ya see the thing about Brits is there's a hollowness at the core. Where we have baseball (Moneyball is great, go see it) they have...cricket. So they make up for that lack with stentorian voices and a haughty manner.
I thought Kudrow was hilarious in Mad About You.
I didn't watch the HBO show, tho'. EBL loves it, IIRC.
The HBO show was The Comeback and it just wasn't given time. It was an uncomfortable comedy like Curb Your Enthusiasm. Although unlike Curb which plays to male humor..The Comeback was more balanced. Kudrow has a new series on Showtime called Web Therapy. It can also be viewed online. It's an acquired taste.
Kudrow showed some dramatic acting skills in a good, albeit dark flick called Wonderland. It was about crack, porn, John Holmes, and murder. Kudrow played John Holmes estranged wife.
