Soup's On!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No soup for you!

Well there is soup for you. Pick out your favorite:

Tomato

Lentil

Split Pea

Mazta Ball (Chicken)

Italian Wedding Soup (Meatball)

These are my personal favorites. A lot of good ones didn't make the cut. Eat hearty!

Tomato soup with grilled cheese. Classic combination.

Split pea will dominate in the home stretch. Crumble your cornbread into a steaming bowl of split pea, close your eyes, and breathe in the aroma of heaven.

Actually, they all look delicious.
Any recipes to follow?

Italian Wedding looks great, never heard of it before.

I attend Italian weddings for the excellent soup.

I dance with, but have never, ever willingly married an Italian woman, that I know of.

Their uncles are all named Moe and own row boats.

Plus the hair. Yeesh, it's everywhere.

Tomato is the only way to go. With goldfish crackers of course.

This is harder than voting for President.

OK, for some unknown reason, I can't get any visuals tonight. And not unlike real life, you gotta admit, they can sway the hip or the dick.

Just sayin'.

So, if I have to pick just ONE, I want you to know that I am only picking it for tonight. OK?

I gotta go with that Italian Wedding Soup. I won't hold its name against it.

Most importantly, it has some meat. Meatballs to be exact. I like that a lot. It also comes in a light chicken broth in case I choose to diet, and also with a bit of green for not only color contrast, but for food group balance as well. Someone threw a little starch into this mix. Dittalini was the perfect choice. Wide as it is long.

Woohoo!

At least for tonight, I think Italian Wedding Soup perfectly suits me.

OK, I just refreshed. I think Troop is throwing his weight behind that split pea and ham.

Notice the addition of that little baguette? With parsley for color, of course.

I'm pretty sure Troop voted for the Wedding soup. I was first in line when the polls opened and there was only one vote ahead of mine and it was for the meatball soup.

That matzoh looks good.

But I don't think I'm votin' for it.

Thanks Trooper, I vote for the albondigas. (That's what we would call the wedding soup out here, 'cept you need more cilantro, red pepper, a bit of chopped tomato, and rice, floating in the broth.)

I wish it would get cold here, to get me thinking about making some soups.

Is there anything more useless than a sprig of parsley?

john said...

Yes.

That would be a sprig of plastic parsley

I always eat them-they're sort of a talisman.

Consider this a write-in vote for a bowl of whatever Steve Phillips has been consuming.

Bwwwwaaaaaaaah.

Man, I'd sure like a big bowl of posole for lunch. Mmmm.

Parsley is a natural breath freshener.

The "Wedding" part of the name doesn't refer to actual weddings, but the "wedding" meatballs in a soup!
