Get well soon Cuz!

Our good friend and cousin Ron has taken ill. I hope he knows that our thoughts and prayers are with him.

I am sure that Ginger and Joan Holloway and all the rest also send their love. They have no bigger fan or better guy here on the internets.

Get well soon cuz!

I just spoke to Ron on the phone. He is in great spirits and was cheered to hear that people were concerned. He didn't mind that I share some news.
Ron's kidneys are severally compromised from the Legionella bacterium which also caused the pneumonia in his lungs. Legionella is treatable with antibiotics but the weakened condition of his kidneys has complicated things because the kidneys are crucial for filtering & excreting the toxins and getting rid of the disease.

I asked him when he might be getting out and he said it depends on the stabilization of his kidneys. He did say that his immune system had improved. He might become a minor celebrity because of the relative rarity of Legionaire's.

He sounds well taken care of there and was happy to hear from me. He's amazed by his tech bed and can't get over all the "positions" it has. Unfortunately he doesn't have any internet access-he's worrying about his email and spam piling up.

Good news: Ron's good friend Camie who's on the scene let me know today that Ron is responding well to treatment and that the docs are pleased with the improvement in his kidney function, which was the biggie. If this trend continues they will be able to fight the Legionella more aggressively. He could be out in a week.

Great news, amba.
Damn sorry to hear Ron has been ill, though.
We need him back in the e-saddle.

Oh my gosh.

Ron, best wishes and prayers for a swift and full recovery. I was wondering where you had gone. Sorry that it was into a hospital.

We're keeping your seat at the bar cordoned off until you return.
