In London's fashion week, designer Mark Fast decided to use two plus size models to walk the cat walk in his designs. Now these girls were only a size 12 so it's not like he was using someone who was a size that was any different than what the majority of women in the entire fucking world are at. But two members of his "team" quit. His "stylist" and his "creative designer" quit right before the show because they refused to work with "plus" models. The prejudice and hatred that most people in the fashion industry feel toward anyone who is not a size zero is literally astounding to me.
What is normal is that the stylist is a fuckin' idiot as most of them are. They have no concept of how to dress a plus woman and have no idea what to put on them. It ill behooves any ready to wear manufacturer to work with these morons if he wants to market his design to the majority of consumers both here and in the UK. But they continue to make the same mistakes.
The only way to combat this stupidity is to make cool clothes that women want to wear. That's why we are going to California to get that ball rolling faster that it is already.
I salute Mr. Fast, he is one designer who has the right idea. We need a lot more like him.

Aren't most stylists and creative designers (designer isn't enough?) 'mos? And isn't that your answer right there?
My wife's best friend used to design swimsuits and worked in the industry in LA for years. She left the industry several years ago and is kicking herself over it. She wasn't a 'mo.
The normal sized models look great in those knit dresses. The size zero models look like hell in them. Curvy women just don't appeal to to the gay men who design most stuff.
Fags or not fags, whoever talked Michelle Obama into wearing that belt the other day sure enough hates her.
Nice picture. You know what would look good on her of course.
It's perplexing why they don't pursue the plus sized market, which has to be the largest segment of the industry (no pun intended). From a practical viewpoint, I would think that anyone in the market would make a play for the deeper pockets. I don't see very many size 0 women in any given day. Size 12 is pretty normal. Fat bottom girls you make the rockin' world go 'round.
Oddly, we can't get clothes to fit our daughter, who weighs 60 something and is five feet tall. Either the waist it too big or the thing is too long. So, it seems that clothes are manufactured for fat girls and emaciated women.
I wonder if the entire story wasn't just made up for publicity sake; they never released the names of the people who quit.

From what I've heard, for every additional size they add, they only get a marginal number of women. Plus, not all women have their weight in the same places which further limits who would be able to wear your merchandise.
In the world of haute couture, the fashion houses also pick the thinnest women possible because they charge a fee to make alterations.
I'm not seeing the "plus size" in that model.
Not that she has no plusses.
