Shark Tank is full of chum.

One of our main rivals in the plus industry went on the Shark Tank this week and sold 50% of her business for a mere $250,000 which I think is severly undervalued. Something doesn't add up. And it was most unfortunate that she reveled in the sterotypical behavior of a "plus" woman. Watch it online and tell me what you think.

It was most unfortunate.

I saw that. I kinda thought she was trying to 'give them a show.' Either that, or she was genuinely a cartoon.

She is pretty much a cartoon.

It's just that the way she presented herself kind of reinforced all the brutal nasty sterotypes that bigots like Althouse have about plus woman.

At the end of the segment she shouted "Let's Eat."

Everyone laughed.

As a plus size dude (who also wears shorts) I am well aware of the Madisonian prejudice of which you speak! I think the Fashionistas often latch on too hard to the 'Facist' part of their terminology...

I think her confidence was all for show, that's why she went so cheap. If she had the mark-up she claimed and was doing the amount of business for the time period she stated, I find it hard to imagine her needing a quarter of a million dollars that badly. Granted, it didn't sound like she had a lot of retail experience as a shopkeeper, but she could have hired a consultant cheap enough, or just chatted-up small business owners for free advice.

She should have used the appearance as an advertisement for her brand. Instead, I got the impression she took some of the refusals to support her personally. She went along with the final deal because she needed the validation to compensate for her feelings of being a victim.

I think those sharks smelled blood in the water and pounced.

If I were in the group of sharks I would divvy up who was going to invest in what ahead of time. Then have people take turns talking down the investments so the others could get a good deal.

It sounds evil, but they are called "sharks" and I assume it isn't because they're so nice that calling them "sharks" is somehow ironically funny. Like calling a tall man "shorty".

I don't think the deal is going to go through. She severly undervalued her company and I can't believe she is going to accept it for the money stated. In short...I think it is all bullshit.
