Maybe the women should chime in but if large breasts cause a woman physical discomfort, as is sometimes the case, a downsizing operation makes sense IMO.

My first preference is no surgery.
I think for most women the first option should be to get lean before doing anything to their breasts.
But, if you guys have ever seen Ashley Pridgen (and you have, because she's the SnorgTees model), you know it's possible to be very slim—tiny, even—and be endowed to the point where it can cause back trouble.
Even then, I'd consider it a last resort.
Likewise for augmentation. - February 10, 2012 at 11:12 PM

Actually, I think it's very cool she doesn't do nude.
With a body like that, the pressure must be enormous. - February 10, 2012 at 11:30 PM

Women who have this surgery are probably terribly uncomfortable, for both frame types, large and small. I think that whatever the decision is whether to do it or not, it belongs to the woman who is wearing the boobs, not the desires of her partner, because partners come and partners go and your boobs remain, stuck on your chest.
I do agree that strong upper body muscle tone would help carry extremely large breasts, but that wouldn't help the chafing and embarrassment issues.
These women have my sympathies, breasts even average sized ones can be bothersome in some situations, of course in others not so much. ;-) - February 11, 2012 at 12:26 PM

Pridgen was considering it—may have gotten it, for all I know.
I've seen fat women talk about getting it, though, and I think (to myself), "Maybe you oughtta work on a more comprehensive solution...." - February 11, 2012 at 12:34 PM

Blake, as a woman who has carried extra weight at a point in my life, losing it is sometimes almost impossible. When insulin levels are continuously high, or have repeated episodes of being very high, then plummeting, hunger and the control of it becomes monumental.
I've read many blogs by people who lost over a hundred pounds or more and they all agree that when the physical symptom of hunger is under control, it's much easier to work on the other issues some folks have, such as food addictions, emotional or bored eating.
When I cut foods out of my diet that were high carb, such as bread and starchy vegies , skim milk, and most of all sugar, the hunger issues became very manageable, if not just about absent, except for once a day. As I've said allowing healthy fats, such as animal fats including butter, sour cream etc, olive oil, coconut oil. Hunger becomes a non issue and restricting food intake becomes much easier. - February 11, 2012 at 12:53 PM

Allie,
I totally get that. (I'm reading "Wheat Belly".) I'm just a "surgery last" kind of guy. - February 11, 2012 at 1:23 PM

Blogfather has seen fit to remain silent on the topic but as a brafitter, I'm sure he supports a woman's right to choose cup size.
Or a woman's cup's choice to right-size. - February 11, 2012 at 1:50 PM

Blake, Dr. Davis backs up his assertions pretty well, plus he relies on his patients and ow well they respond to eliminating wheat.
I must say I've never felt better, no GERD, no stomach upset ever anymore. Plus I eat high fat, no gallbladder issues. I used to wake up with a mouthful of stomach acid after eating a piece of cake with buttercream frosting. now I can eat a fatty meal and have no issues whatsoever.
Lipid panel was great, last time I had labs drawn. - February 11, 2012 at 2:19 PM

Dust Bunny is well endowed, perhaps she could give us her opinion and BJM is still perky after all these years.
Hey isn't there a song, "Still perky after all these years" ? - February 11, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Women who've got back trouble from large breasts should just spend more time supine.

o/~I met my old lover
On the street last night
She seemed so pert to see me
I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And felt ourselves some boobs
Still perky after all these years
Oh, still perky after all these years~\o - February 11, 2012 at 3:08 PM

o/~I'm not the kind of man
Who tends to gladularize
I seem to sag in old familiar ways
But I ain't no fool for implants
That jiggle 'round my ears
Still perky after all these years~\o
OK, I'll stop. - February 11, 2012 at 3:58 PM
