Van Morrison is my favorite singer, period. While I like and enjoy many others, Van the Man is The Man as far as I'm concerned.
Something like one-third of the 4,000 songs in iTunes on my computer are Van Morrison songs. They never grow old, nor do I ever grow weary of hearing them. Sometimes a song I've not heard in a few years pops up on the Morrison shuffle and the lyrics and music are as captivating as when both were new.
Some of his music is quietly and overtly religious, like the classic and brilliant When Will I Ever Learn To Live In God? from the epic Avalon Sunset album.
His best live album is the 1994 double-set A Night In San Francisco (Live). If you've heard it, you'll never tire if hearing again and again.
Van Morrison is to rock what Miles Davis was to jazz: brilliantly creative, artistically excellent, and someone who greatly expanded the musical genre.
I hate Sarah Jessica Parker, Robin Williams, Tim Robbins, Susan Saradon, the BJ Hunnicut guy, brussel sprouts, the Boston Red Sox, commies and well, lawyers.

Wow. I didn't know that Karl Rove played the piano.
That is a great song. Not the best version of it there, but it has a powerful message.
And, as has been written elsewhere, Rove, you magnificent bastard!

He is Derek Bell the keyboard player for the Cheiftans.
Van and the Chieftains - what a combo.
Van Morrison...always get him mixed up with Morrissey.
Don't hurt me. I don't know either of 'em from Adam.
Van and the Chieftans are great together.
@Michael, Phil Keaggy did a great cover of that song on his Crimson and Blue CD. Van was/is the man.
