We went on a impromptu tour of downtown LA as the fabric warehouse and the merchandise mart where the fabric show takes place is in the heart of town. We drove by the Staples Center and LA is second to none in their ability to generate hobo urine.
For some reason we drove past USC and our driver was giving us all the highlights as her son played football there. At one point she turned the wrong way and we were on a street that you needed school identification to go through. They seem to keep pretty close tabs on the traffic since the surrounding area is supposedly a little sketchy. Well of course we didn't have any id. I mean I showed the guy a pack of Trojans I had in my wallet but he was not amused.
So we had to make a U turn.

Hey dude, that reminds me, did you hear Michael Jackson died?
Hey, this art/performance space ain't proudly called The Smell for nothin'.
Huh.
I don't hang around there much.
The last times I was in the area of Staples Center it didn't smell at all. Haven't been to USC in decades so no idea there.
Well we had the windows rolled up tight but there were a bunch of dudes pushing shopping carts and stuff and I kinda guess that there might have been a urine thingy going on.
Just my opinion of course.
Hey! My great-great-great grandmother McConnell lived in that neighborhood, a block from USC. I think it has changed a bit since 1900 though.
I suspect you've seen more of Los Angeles than most Angelinos. Hardly anything to do in LA is in LA.
